- make a playlist relative to how you feel... i have many of these; '1' (appropriately named since it's the most important one) full of mostly bon iver for any time i feel unjust, 'GIRL' as my feminist list when someone stomps on my pride or opinions, and '17' for angsty teen shit
- list to your playlists and sing along
- create some collages (this def works)
- go to a concert (this is dependent on how well you're going to deal with crowds; some gigs will just give panic attacks whilst others exceed expectations)
- if there aren't any good gigs for the foreseeable weeks ahead, book some
- watch tv or wander around with a younger relative (luca always wants to play board games and they're secretly fun okaY)
- wear no make-up
- make your own music
- write it all down. a private tumblr, a journal, anything you can write on; destroy it afterwards (or don't, but i always have)
- make up and write a story
- make some art; draw, paint, destroy, photograph
- create zines with photography, art, writing, or drawing
- something i always do; clean your room
- throw things out
- re-organize furniture
- find new stuff to put there
- donate all the old stuff to a charity store
- retail therapy by looking at nice things online (i do this far too much)
- diy old clothes that need changing (check the rookie link)
- feel fresh- spa, shower, moisturize
- cry
- break things that you don't really need
- indulge
- bad great food
- television shows (sometimes you feel worse if they're really good though)
- old teen films
- flick around on the internet
- modify something
- i always always always cut my hair
- shaving it makes me v v happy
- and dye it whichever color i'm feelin
- new piercings feel wonderful
- plan or book a tattoo
- look at old family photos. put up the really nostalgic and aesthetic ones. find old stories and art.
- volunteer for anything; charity shops, organizations, even just a neighbor who needs a lil hand..
- create and voice your opinion online, in person, at a protest
- get some exercise - it takes a lot to motivate me to actually do this, but it does work! not running, but skating, swimming, cycling, etc.. running basically kills me
- go to the park with your pals
- just be with your pals for a bit
- vent your problems to a close one.. or a stranger
- have animals for company. walk a dog, watch a fish, talk to a cat.
