• Celebrated the start of 2017 with a traditional Japanese new year lunch. So much tasty food.
  • Did not do as much traveling this year but I did go to Austin, TX in January and Boston, MA in November.
  • I had the best BBQ there (TX) and literally nothing here in NYC can compare to it; I tried some BBQ spots and just no.
  • Also the Tex-Mex = A+. All the Torchy’s tacos.
  • Boston is now my favorite city ever! (I’ve been there before but never really noticed its charm because I was too distracted by NYC, having been away from it in PA, I craved a city + diversity). Boston is so clean and nice and nothing like the mess of Brooklyn.
  • Had some great seafood in Boston, of course. :)
  • I finally quit SSTK; what a caustic environment that I am now forever free of enduring.
  • Did a whole lot of soul searching and realized that though I love art and design from an analytical sense, I truly dislike actually creating art & design.
  • I began my quest to enter health care to become a nurse. I’m unsure of my final destination within nursing but this should be an interesting ride.
  • Through my classes for nursing, I discovered a newfound love for science. I always thought myself to not be math or science minded but realize now that it was years of self-doubt that brought that upon me.
  • Organic chemistry is now my favorite thing, surprisingly. It’s pretty fascinating how basically everything is chemistry.
  • But because of classes, from June - early December, I was basically a hermit and all I did was study. But I have to admit, I do like studying - its interesting!
  • Volunteered at the hospital for a few months but it was quite boring since there was nothing really for me to do.
  • I proudly read quite a large number of books this year (~35 in total) but the # of books slowed down when the semester picked up in September.
  • Moved in with Seiji to Bushwick. I’m not a fan of the neighborhood but it’s a good stepping stone since I’m currently in school.
  • We battled (and won!) against a disgusting German roach situation.
  • I ate a lot of really good food this year (xian noodles, dan dan, tacos / bbq in Texas, gnoccheria, bbq olive chicken, spam fried rice, soba-ya shrimp tempura, sugarfish, etc.)
  • Spent thanksgiving with Seiji’s family in a cute little town in upstate New York.
  • Spent Christmas with my family even though it was so stressful thanks to my mother freaking out, as always.
  • NYE, tonight, should be fun. Heading over to Seiji’s friend’s apartment for a small party and some champagne~
