So this year in review is going to be a little bit different from my other years in review because of how different this year is compared to the other years. This is also the first year I’m not posting these on the 31st of December.
- All of 2018 I was in school so most of my memories of this year involve studying lol.
- I also now understand what it means to be passionate about something. All throughout college and working at SSTK I could care less what I was doing. But now, through nursing, I feel like I’m pouring my soul into it because it sort of lights a fire in me?? I’m not sure how to explain it more than nursing excites me way more than anything I’ve ever done.
- This year I’ve made a lot of friends, which is great. I’ve felt like throughout the course of my college career I had a hard time making friends because of how different I was from 90% of the student body. Which also ties in to the below.
- I’ve learned more than I’ve ever learned in undergrad and am rly mad I ever step foot at muhlenberg college.
- For one, I wasn’t surrounded by v rich and v racist children as I was at mulyworld. I was at schools in the heart of NYC and they were filled with diversity, which I loved.
- The start of 2018 began with a traditional Japanese new year lunch.
- In terms of traveling, there wasn’t very much in 2018.
- Seiji and I did go to cape cod and we ate a lot of good seafood.
- Also during our cape cod trip we got to go on a whale watching tour and see whales fairly close up, which was magical.
- In December 2018 (and part of January 2019), we went to SF for a wedding and spent the week between SF and Napa. However, most of the highlights of this trip occurred in 2019 (Muir Woods, painted ladies, sitting in mission dolores park)
- Seiji and I moved to Qns and to a very cute neighborhood that’s fairly close by a lot of my sstk friends! This was the first apartment where we together, just the two of us.
- I still managed to read 27 books this year despite spending the entire year in school.
- 2018 saw a lot of my friends ending long term relationships, I’m glad seiji and I are still going strong.
- Spent thanksgiving at my mothers with just my mother and aunt, which is probably my favorite set up for the holidays.
- Christmas was at my cousin’s house, which was unfortunate.
- Christmas Eve was spent at seiji’s brother’s apartment, which was fun.
