- noise bands-preferably Bastard Noise or Melt Banana-but i have been hearing a lot more lately and its so wonderful to have my ears assaulted in this way! (this included sludge and stoner metal bands too like High on Fire...and Sigh...or Sleep)

- science fiction that challenges what i think i truly believe...such as Heinlen and Card
