• past lives that I have lived?
• there are things I know
• that I shouldn’t
• is it the past or future I remember?

• one in particular
• stalks my consciousness
• a feeling that will come to pass
• i know the only way I can be killed
• that hot blood will seep out of me
• leaving me for once at true peace
• crying and chuckling at the absurdity of it all

• facing my death, that poetic irony that awaits me
• the only thing heard over the howling gale
• my laughter, joyous at that last release
• and a good ending
• for those I love.
