- tabernac (literally tabernacle, but probably the best swear word ever)
- pamplemousse (grapefruit)
- talweg (trough/thalweg- although this is the same thing in English, it's significantly cooler sounding in French)
- mongolfiere (hot-air balloon)
- pieuvre (octapus)
- genial (great/brilliant/awesome etc)
- langue (tongue)- while not one of my favourites, it gets an honourable mention for being much nicer than tongue
