feeling sad/lonely/anxious?
- make a cup of tea or grab a chai latte
- get outdoors for a walk or run, vitamin d always helps
- work out-- endorphins help too
- put on good music or explore cool new music on spotify
- take a hot shower or bath
- text or Skype family or a friend from home!!!
- MAKE PLANS WITH A FRIEND FOR COFFEE AND CHAT, I ALWAYS FEEL BETTER WHEN I GET OUTSIDE MY HEAD
- eat healthy meals and take care of myself
- drink lots of water
- light a nice scented candle
- get enough sleep
- think kind thoughts about myself (mantras can help)
- acknowledge my anxieties and then try to let them go
- be proactive/productive
- watch an episode of something fun or mindless (but not too many episodes) or treat myself to a movie on my laptop before bed
- make a fun/exciting plan to look forward to
feeling overwhelmed? break it down:
- check in on my planner and write future dates/deadlines in
- make outlines and plans for work concepts/work schedules
- don't overextend myself with commitments if i'm already feeling too busy!!
- turn off social media for solid chunks of time when i'm working and try to get a concrete, finite amount of work time in before a break
- SLEEP ENOUGH
- study/work in different settings; break it up; work in a public place (library silent floor, etc) where i am forced to focus
self-care:
- paint my nails
- self-tanning lotion
- touch up brows
- shave legs
- moisturise/exfoliate
- do a face mask
unfuck my space:
- do laundry
- wash sheets
- clean up my desk/room
- clean the bathroom
- take out trash
- buy fresh flowers or a candle
get things done:
- do i have groceries?
- do i need to transfer money or take out cash?
- do i need to turn in coursework?
- do i need anything at boots etc?
- do i need to text anyone back?
- do i need to pay my rent?
- do i need to add money to my account to pay my phone bill?
- do i need to buy a ticket for an event or a trip?
- do i need to Skype the fam?
- do i need to charge my camera or replace flash batteries, etc?
