- next door to the gym = no excuses! i had been worrying about how to motivate myself to walk alllll the way over to the gym when the weather's gross so this solves that dilemma
- also i'll be next door to the park/playing fields so that's nice on a sunny day
- get to walk past a lake into town
- the walk into town is good exercise, and quality time to myself OR a fun walk with a friend if i want, and i can wear my beautiful new nikes everywhere
- bathroom will be cleaner and private
- no potential bad roommate/decorating disagreements
- double bed instead of a single bed
- eat healthier/have more control over my food. cooking is FUN maddy you love to cook let's be real
- able to bribe new friends to hang out with me via baked goods
- can cook with friends if i want/have kitchen parties
- tons of people around, always stuff going on and people to hang with
- this isn't america; self-catered does not equal less of a uni experience/less social
- since class is farther away, more incentive to stay in town between classes and find good study spots or go to prof office hours, have a study routine
- never have to sexile my roommate nor get sexiled
- getting a blender which means i get smoothies first year which i wouldn't get in catered halls
- never have to worry about missing the set mealtime hours or structuring my day to fit them in
- 500 kids in single rooms = everyone will go out of their way to be social
- maybe buy a used bike yay!
- it's a tiny tiny tiny town so nothing's really THAT far away anyway
- i'll live in a cute lil flat with friends for the next 3 years after this
- friendly reminder to self that i'll make friends in my classes and societies, and my life doesn't revolve solely around where i live
- and in a building of 500 people i inevitably will find people i like!!
