Just to remind myself to keep track of the dates that plowing, planting, and such are done on the farm this year... March

• 17th: Old red "Farm Use" truck, old feed mixer parts, and our old hot water heater went to the junkyard today, along with some other junk from around the farm.
  • Kept seat, steering wheel, gear shift, and glove box from truck.
  • Kept a few small pieces of metal from water heater that were left on the porch.
• 29th: Used blue Fairfax water truck delivered. Will be converted to manure spreader truck upon arrival of new red tank.

April

• 2nd: Gene purchased 1997 20ft. aluminum cattle trailer at auction for $8,000.
• 8th: Red Diller tank for new manure spreader truck delivered.
• 16th: Guys hooked up air switch that will allow new manure spreader truck tank hatch to open and close.
• 17th: Purchased new CD/Radio with USB port for new manure spreader truck(!)
• 17th: Dale gave Willie a small pine tree (logs) to use for lumber on the new 10x10 chicken coop.
• Gene gave Willie a large pine tree (logs) that blew down over at the new farm to use for lumber on the chicken coop.

May

• 2nd: Began chisel plowing. Hauled manure.
• 5th: Gary used the new blue/red manure truck to haul manure for the first time today!
• 9th: Finished spreading manure on corn fields. Began planting oats.
• 11th: Began planting corn.
• 16th: Began construction of chicken coop.
• 21st: Chicken coop moved into yard. Unfinished.
• 25th: Began mowing grass for hay/silage.

June

• 12th: Finished corn planting
• 30th: Began hay on mountain

July

• 5th: Finished hay on mountain

August

• 18th: Finished combining oats

September

• 16th: Finished mowing 3rd cutting, New silage wagon

October

• Finished all corn silage chopping by October 12th, still corn to combine
• 10th & 11th: Hay on the mountain finished
