- 2nd: Hair cut
- 3rd: Hummingbird Clearwing Moth on phlox!
- 4th: Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly on phlox! Cleaned camper.
- 5th: Pond visit! Counted 5 cows, 5 heifers.
- 6th: Heart-shaped egg :)
- 7th: Severe weather? What severe weather? There's no severe weather here today! Beautiful sunrise, though...
- 8th: Volunteer sunflower (the little one!) blooming in the backyard near the bird feeder!
- 9th: Yuma, CO EF3 tornado
- 10th: Hoof trimming today.
- 11th: Morning trip to town. Sheep mineral feeder.
- 12th: Frequent, persistent, long rumbles of thunder, followed by lots of cloud-to-cloud lightning and heavy rain.
- 13th: Assisted niece with water problem at her new home. Headache.
- 14th: 3 cows to stockyard.
- 15th: Backed up 16,000+ photos from phone to flash drive.
- 16th: "Coffee Break" ice cream!
- 17th: New (to us) feed mixer. New Hereford bull calf!
- 18th: One 20th birthday and one would've been 95th birthday. Cleaned camper. Another new calf (or two!)
- 19th: Butterfly photo session!
- 20th: Rare tropical storm and (much less rare) earthquake hit southern California. Counted 9 cows/heifers and 3 baby calves (2 heifers, 1 bull) at "new" farm. Spotted a pair of green herons!
- 21st: Green heron on post!
- 22nd: 10 cows/heifers, 3 baby calves + 1 hidden -- the Hereford/Angus cow keeps her calf well-hidden most of the time! Earliest level 84 yet!
- 23rd: Blah.
- 24th: Where's the little black-and-white Hereford calf?! Piggy cheese board arrived, even though it's still not marked as "shipped!"
- 25th: Early morning thunderstorm with cloud-to-ground lightning. Camper done, towels folded, dishes loaded, showered, and dressed by noon!
- 26th: Guys found missing black-and-white calf dead (and appeared to have been so for a while.) :(
- 27th: Cheesy Bean & Rice Burrito! Yum!
- 28th: Interesting. Immature green stink bugs aren't green!
- 29th: Level 84. I was hoping to reach it yesterday, but today works, too.
- 30th: Dipping taco (and 2 Cheesy Beef & Rice Burritos!) $525/$275/$800 mix-up (corrected.) Why would you pay a worker who'd been there one month more than you'd pay someone who'd been there a year for pretty much the same work?! That makes no sense. Missed company breakfast. Also, groceries! Rest in peace, Socks (the Hereford bull calf.) Beautiful sunset with hurricane's outer bands overhead.
