In case you haven't seen already, I have a human AU for Thomas & Friends!

• The designs are based on the UK dub rather than the US.
• The AU takes place in modern day with access to social media and modern technology, but otherwise the Island of Sodor isn’t different from canon.
• Most non-human speaking characters in the show are human and operate the machine they are in canon. The engines are drivers, the coaches are conductors and guards, the cranes are their operators, and so on. One exception to this are the Troublesome Trucks. In this AU, they’re the Troublesome Delinquents: rebellious kids who like to hang around the railway yards and mock the drivers or sing insulting songs. They take after the trucks, but aren’t directly associated with them.
• The Island of Sodor is a semi-rural island nestled between the Isle of Man and the English west coast. It’s become a tourist destination for its unique infrastructure and unique cultural blend of past and present, but the heritage railways that run all throughout the island are widely considered to be the main attraction. These railways are the proud homes to famous steam engines, all of which have been restored, painted in beautiful bold livery, and carry both passengers and freight in regular day to day operation.
