- Spend time with my Mum and Dad.
- Spend time with my brother and sister.
- Spend time with my grandparents.
- See the Friedmans and other family, etc.
- Sleep over at the Leederville place. Even just one night under that roof.
- Have a dentist appointment (hurray for Australian health insurance).
- Have a But, Our Empire! comic jam (maybe even a 24-hour one, though that would be being quite ambitious).
- Try to eat sensibly, despite being a) on holiday and b) around my force-feeding Jewish family.
- Go to the beach. Or beaches, even.
- Go to Beaufort St and Hyde Park (Mt. Lawley).
- Go to Oxford St (Leederville).
- Say the word “thongs” and not have people think that I’m referring to underwear.
- Also say the word “pants” and not have people think that I’m referring to underwear.
- Celebrate Australia Day in authentic Aussie style: friends, searing heat, inflatable kiddie pool, BBQ and JJJ Hottest 100 on the stereo.
- Visit Empire Toys and Quality Comics, and walk around with a smug sense of superiority, having worked in a cult/sci-fi/comics ‘megastore’.
- Go to the Big Day Out (and possibly hang out at the Duxton hotel bar the night before, for kicks).
- Attend at least one house party. Preferably one thrown in my honour. Come one, people. You know you want to do it.
- Go on a small road trip. Maybe somewhere down south. Even just for the day.
- Go to the Rosemount and the Hydie.
- Go out to Amplifier, our old weekend haunt, and see for myself how lame it supposedly is these days.
- Go out to SHAPE (new hipster club that looks quite promising) for party times.
- Catch up with Novak one night at Amps or SHAPE, and pretend we’re meeting for the first time (we’ve only ever known each other in London).
- Catch up over beer garden drinks with Fletcher Fletchypants.
- Catch up over Gloria Jeans frappes with Josh.
- Catch up over cocktails with BenDog.
- Catch up with Caryn, Stace, Laura M, Janelle Pants, Alana, Sammity Sam, Mel, Shannan, Karen, Brianne, Anneke and Xian in our respective ways. Catch up with the rest, who I’m sure to see out and about.
- Have a Black Books marathon.
- Watch the greater part of Heroes season 2 with my family.
- Watch Twin Peaks season 2 with Josh B, Josh and Emm.
- Watch the Spongebob Squarepants Movie with Petey and check out his new tattoos.
- See the following bands play (if at all possible): Snowman, New Rules For Boats, Josh Fontaine, Radarmaker, Airport City Shuffle, Institut Polaire, Okioki and Injured Ninja. And whatever other shows are happening while I’m there (eg. Low).
- Drive around, in a car, listening to RTR or JJJ (like the old days).
- Do some baking.
- Wear shorts, havianas and summer dresses.
- Speak fondly of London to anyone who will listen.
