- visit local emergency room (get tested for stds)
- take birth control pill (within 24 hours)
- you feel a lump in your breast?
- remember: breast tissue naturally has a bumpy texture.
- but: lumps that feel harder or different from the rest of the breast (or the other breast) or that feel like a change are a concern and should be checked. This type of lump may be a sign of breast cancer or a benign breast condition
- see a health care provider if you:
- Find a new lump (or any change) that feels different from the rest of your breast
- Find a new lump (or any change) that feels different from your other breast
- Feel something that's different from what you felt before
- more warnings!
- Lump, hard knot or thickening inside the breast or underarm area
- Swelling, warmth, redness or darkening of the breast
- Change in the size or shape of the breast
- Dimpling or puckering of the skin
- Itchy, scaly sore or rash on the nipple
- Pulling in of the nipple or other parts of the breast
- Nipple discharge that starts suddenly
- New pain in 1 spot that doesn't go away
- you get into a car accident?
- keep an emergency kit
- + cellphone, pen, paper, camera, flashlight, card with information about medical allergies or conditions that may require special attention etc
- keep safety first: move cars to the side of the road, or stay inside the car
- exchange information: name, address, phone number, insurance company, policy number, driver license number and license plate number for the driver and the owner of each vehicle. make a written description of each car, including year, make, model and color — and the exact location of the collision and how it happened
- photograph and document the accident
- file an accident report (often helps insurance companies speed up the claims process)
