- sunshine / s club 7: the first proper album i owned that i listened/danced to almost e v e r y single day. i still know all the words to the songs
- let go / avril lavigne: my idol from age 8-infinity. the very start of my baby emo phase
- riot! / paramore: when i went full emo. also my first favourite band plus i still gotta soft spot for them
- fools and worthless liars / deaf havana: the first album and band i loved with ALL MY LITTLE EMO FIFTEEN YEAR-OLD HEART. i listened to it p much constantly for six months
- reach for the sun / the dangerous summer: same as fawl pretty much this spoke to my special snowflake soul & still good for angst
- the family jewels / marina & the diamonds: ngl i'm still 100% in love with this album it helped me through school and coming to terms with my desperate compulsion to overachieve
- the devil and god are raging inside me / brand new: i listened to this mostly when i was still engulfed in the emo but thought i was cool. still a good album tho if you ignore jesse's pretentiousness
- electra heart / marina & the diamonds: never ever gonna beat tfj and tumblr made it really annoying but this album came out just when i needed it to when i was in the middle of a really shitty relationship
- my beautiful dark twisted fantasy / kanye west: the first rap album i ever listened to and thought "wow maybe this genre is actually for me". plus it's pretty much perfect and definitely yeezy's best. and it just makes me feel rly happy and good about myself
