God so many reasons where to start. Okay first off let me just make it clear that this pairing is my favorite due to personal preference, therefore you (aka the, like, one person who will read this) may not agree with my reasons, but w/e this is my list okay.

• Okay Lieb is clearly angry at Web for leaving him behind
• Everyone else is kind of like 'Wow...Web...okay then'
• While Lieb is genuinely angry with him and easily the most hostile towards him
• This is because he had no one hang out with during Bastogne
• All the other OTPs were together, but, no, Lieb was alone
• He missed Web, and his anger in Part Eight is born out of his love
• Shhhh just accept it
• Okay Web meanwhile was clearly not clued into the fact that they were an OTP
• So he's like 'what is going on, just going to stand over here with my mouth agape what did I do wrong I have a great facial structure but a sub-par hairline ah well I'll get by'
• And Lieb is like 'why, why am I paired with him WHY'
• And then he remembers why:
  • The blatant UST that floats between them* in pretty much every scene they share. They stare a lot, they do a lot of close talking, they might even do what some would refer to as playground flirting–I mean come on, Lieb acts like a 9 year old who doesn't want to do his chores, and Web just does exactly what he wants him to do and then Lieb winks at him, come on. The UST is mostly Web's fault because he is oblivious to the very end...or not, depending on what fic you read.
  • The fact that it takes at least two full watches of the series to really see this pairing. Yes, Winters/Nixon is easier to see, and yes Roe/Babe is sweeter, but these two are subtle until you notice them (at which point they are painstakingly obvious) and it makes them all the more interesting.
  • The dissimilarities. Lieb and Web, at first glance, are complete opposites, but really they're more dissimilar than anything. Lieb is cab driver from Frisco, Web is a college boy from New York City, and yet they are easily the two in Easy Company who show the most raw animosity towards the Germans. Yeah, Lieb is a manipulative dick at times and Web is a boy scout in his own right, but they actually discuss their lives with one another, something that few other men do in any real detail. Lieb is street smart, rough around the edges and more personable while Web is book smart, polished and somewhat aloof. Yet, they both have strong beliefs that they stick to.
    • Long story short (TOO LATE, MAY) what this amounts to is the fact that, yes, opposites attracts applies here, but they aren't so completely different that they'd constantly be at odds, they could work it out, and besides, they both seem the type to need someone who will oppose them at times, so it works ok.
