ingredients:
- 150 g beef round steaks (or tenderloin/sirloin, 1.5 cm thick)
- salt/pepper
- 1 garlic clove (chopped)
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp mirin
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1 tsp grated garlic
directions:
- sauce: soy sauce, mirin, sake, grated garlic
- add olive oil and garlic clove to pan and saute in low heat
- make shallow grid cuts along bottom of steak and season with salt/pepper
- heat pan to high and remove garlic and oil until there is 1 tsp oil left
- cook 1 min at high heat then flip over for 10 seconds
- reduce to low heat and cook for 10 more seconds then remove
- cover steak with aluminium foil and let it rest for 5 min
- add sauce to pan and boil until thick
- cut steak and pour sauce and sprinkle fried garlic on top
