• The snow collected at the bottom of some tremendous hills.
  • The rather large gopher frolicking in the "fields" of the motel beside the hotel my friend and I were staying at.
  • In the River Arts District Chelsea and I found wonderful art! One of our favorites was a painter,Jonas Gerard.

  • Biltmore. My awesome friend and I felt like we would probably have a little spat with the owners of the house because it all seemed quite "overdone". It was still a beautiful house, we just preferred the nature aspect of it.
    • Biltmore Gardens. We walked through the gardens on a cold, rainy, February day and loved it. The whole thing just felt like a movie.
    • Biltmore Conservatory. It was quite magical. We kind of felt like we were on Clue and Harry Potter at the same time. Don't hate, you know it's true.
    • Biltmore Pool. One word: EPIC. There was just a whole room devoted to this enormous pool (the only thing about it was that it was on the "cellar" floor so it was pretty hot in there.)
  • The Chocolate Lounge. This awesome place where they serve chocolate and liquor of many sorts.
    • Reasons it was so awesome:
      • The live music. Nothing like a good accordian and violin around 10 at night to lift your spirits.
      • Of course the especially exquisite chocolate treats. We got the liquid truffle with lavender and honey and the chocolate peanut mousse. Oy! It was just lovely.
      • The atmosphere was so warm and "homely" like we were just chilling with a bunch of familiar people.
  • THE CLINGMAN CAFE!! AHH It was so tasty and fresh. Like grandma just pulled some greens/lentils/tomatoes out of her garden and shoved it in your sandwich. Wow is all I can say. Gosh, just thinking of that makes me so hungry...
  • The beautiful mountains. Especially since they distracted me so much that we nearly got lost! Yes, my friends. I pointed at the mountains and said "Wow" to Chelsea but I was also supposed to be giving directions,so she took my pointing as to the exit we were supposed to take. So she suddenly swerved and took the exit. She then said "Wow! Thank you for alerting me to that exit!" I just smiled and nodded. Then I realized we really had MAGICALLY taken the correct exit. Thank you mountains and beautiful sunset. :)
  • The amount of time it takes to drive from Asheville to Charleston. Because it was so long, we got a good amount of time to rock out to The Killers. (Which I wish I had taped...because it was just. that. hilarious and entertaining.)
