SHORT NATURALLY WHITE HAIR, DARK CIRCLES UNDER EYES FROM BOTH STRESS AND LOSS OF SLEEP, LARGE SCREW PROTRUDING FROM HEAD THAT CAN BE SPUN, GREEN EYES, SLIM BUT MUSCULAR FRAME, STITCHES MOVING OVER SEVERAL AREAS OF HIS BODY.

~His 'mental illness' cannot be measured by comparing it to any form of identified illness besides the genuine madness that sleeps within a person being stronger in him then in others.

~His childhood could have been pretty normal if it weren't for his own strain of insanity complicating things.

~He never remembers a time where he thought 'normally'. He was likely just like this from the start.

~His family and friends were scared of him growing up, and tried to get him mentally evaluated on several occasions, but no one could figure out what was wrong.

~School always sickened him, as young as Kindergarten; with how blindly and foolishly kids followed instruction without asking questions made him sick.

~He was always rather violent, and got in trouble for that quite often.

~In elementary once he did a project so above and beyond for the science fair he ended up getting rejected from competing again any other year.

~When he joined the academy, he met his closest friends, and partnered with Spirit Albarn.

~Stein had a difficult time not letting the madness get the best of him in school and often was outright sadistic, beating the shit out of classmates or random citizens for amusement.

~Stein very easily made a name for himself at the DWMA as the academy's most skilled meister.

~He found defeating the Star Clan as a very impressive accomplishment at the time.

~He is, and always has been, prone to hallucinations. However just how much he's being consumed by the madness has an affect on this.

~After defeating the Star Clan it made zero sense to him why Sid and Naigus took the baby with them and adopted him, while Stein thought leaving it there to die would be fine. This baby happened to be BlackStar.

~He could have very easily made Spirit into a death scythe, but was too selfish and didn't want to lose his greatest experiment.

~There was a point in time, after graduating, Stein cut off the academy and all his friends there for years.

~During his time away he became a doctor, but also furthered experiments onto himself.

~During his time away from the academy, Stein was not only alone, after having his experiment (Spirit) ripped from him, but he was going even more insane then ever before.

~This was when Stein picked up smoking; it quickly developed into an addiction.

~This was when Stein added the screw to himself, knowing he needed some way to control his madness.

~The scars on Stein's face are from having to open up that portion of himself to properly put the screw in.

~When Stein heard Sid died, he quickly went to dig up the grave and bring the body home, and brought him back as a zombie after many experiments, then showed up at Naigus' place with him.

~This was also when the academy asked him to come back, and to teach there. He accepted, of course.

~A lot of the story beyond this point is filled with the plot of the source.

~Stein very much enjoys sushi.

~He is an insomniac and doesn't get much sleep. He is usually tired.

~He believes that authority doesn't have the true right to decide right from wrong.

~He believes in science, and in questioning everything.

~He wears reading glasses.

RELATIONSHIPS

Marie Mjolnir: When they were students, they were friends and it had been clear to Stein (and everyone) that Marie had a thing for him, and while Stein remained vaguely flirtatious towards her, he never much desired anything real. It was only after many years apart that he began to realize what a bastard he was to her in the past, and just how much he used to play with her emotions. When she started living with him, and seemed genuinely able to put up with his antics, his experiments and the madness, he grew a genuine love for her presence and started to crave it. They got yogether, and eventually got married.

Spirit Albarn: Stein's weapon partner from the academy. When they were students, Stein and Spirit were very close and Stein henuinely considered Spirit his best friend. He could have easily made Spitit into a death scythe but put it off in favor of experimenting on the scythe while he slept. Eventually, the experiments were found out and Spirit found a different partner, and Stein ceased his communication with the academy for a while. When he was able to reconnect eith Spirit, his mental state was a bit better because the madness was easier to control via the screw in his head. However, this did not last with the interference of the Kishin.
