• a little life by hanya yanagiharathis was a tough read. it took me almost 3 months to finish it, if i'm not mistaken. the events just keep getting sadder and sadder, i shed so many tears reading it. but overall, i really enjoyed the book. probably my favourite read this year
  • eat up by ruby tandohthis has become one of my comfort books. not only does it talk about many of my favourite things, it's also filled with reassurance
  • kitchen by banana yoshimotothe urge to do all kinds of healing through food after reading this book! this book opens old wounds and heals you up again right away
  • the joy luck club by amy tangosh, i learnt so much from this book. it gave me a more in-depth knowledge about the chinese culture that i never knew of. and some passages about the mother and daughter hit way too close to home. i love it so much
  • the ten thousand doors of january by alix harrowpicked this book to read because of the cover but once i started reading, i became so absorbed in it! this book is so full of wonders. very imaginative but also felt real at the same time
  • white oleander by janet fitchmy first ever janet fitch book and i'm glad i picked this one. where do i even begin with this book— it's very clear to see that the words were sewed very carefully. the story itself is great, the complexity and all were described very precisely. but the word choices— they were brilliant!
