spring delights
- more sunlight! and the days are getting longer again!
- lying in the sun without a jacket feels so good
- pretty flowers and blossoms everywhere! (and cute bumblebees)
- seeing the fresh light-green leaves growing on the trees
- (more coming)
spring miseries
- (coming at the end of spring)
summer delights
- (coming at the start of summer)
summer miseries
- it's too hot to go outside or be on the computer or even lie in bed
- so. many. construction sites.
- being sweaty all day (even right after a shower)
- headaches from the sun, and having to take sunglasses everywhere
- getting bitten by insects all the time (they love my blood)
- the high-pitched buzz of mosquitoes next to your ear (especially in the night, waking you up)
- there actually is such a thing as too much free time (so bored, but also so unmotivated)
- the feeling of your clothes sticking to your skin from the sweat
- touching any kind of metal or dark surface will burn you
- the air in public transport is either so stuffy you can't breathe or so cold that you freeze to death without a jacket (which you didn't bring)
- opening the window during the day is impossible so no fresh air until 9 p.m.
- the dumpsters stink horribly in a wide radius (especially the food waste)
- too much light to properly watch TV (or any screen)
- too hot for sports of any kind (even if you have all that free time to do them)
- not much appetite, especially not for hot food or sweets
- if you go to the city, you will regret it (so much scorching asphalt and so many sweaty people)
autumn delights
- two words: spooky season!
- another two words: crunchy leaves (so satisfying)
- also the leaves turn really beautiful colours, nature is so cool
- happy girlfriend because it's her favourite season
- pumpkins (to eat and to decorate)
- cozy sweaters and cuddling up in a blankie are fun again
- great season for candles (especially spooky ones)
- doing sports during the day feels good, but it's okay to slack off a bit (hibernation season is coming)
- enjoying tea and hot chocolate and soup again
- perfect time to celebrate your witchy side
- getting a bit (or very) scared watching the one horror movie that I will watch in the whole year
- enjoying the fresh and crisp air when you open the windows
- fog/mist is very cool and mysterious
- porridge tastes great again (and cinnamon is allowed)
- enjoying how the cold air wakes me up in the morning and makes my eyes less puffy
autumn miseries
- it gets dark earlier and earlier (I crave daylight)
- getting properly sick at least once when it gets cold
- my body has less energy and I feel less motivated to do stuff
- everything is wet most of the time and it rains a lot
- having to take a big coat and warm things everywhere
- christmas stuff is up much too early
- salads and cold food are not as satisfying anymore
- coughing, sneezing and nose-blowing people on public transport (and touching handles etc. - yay bacteria)
- the trees look sad after their leaves have fallen off
winter delights
- frost crystals are very beautiful
- the first snow of the season is always magical
- it looks cool when you breath out small clouds into the air
- fairy lights and candles everywhere
- advent calenders (a new surprise every day!)
- celebrating christmas! (always a special time)
- Christmas holidays means lots of time with my family
- ice skating is really fun
- no annoying insects around
- sledding and skiing are just really cool and fun and special
- cuddling up with a blanket and a warm drink
- it's the season of cookies and chocolate
- winter sunrises and sunsets are beautiful
- hot showers/baths feel so good
- watching birds at the birdhouse is interesting
winter miseries
- it's. too. cold.
- having to bring a heavy coat everywhere (plus scarf, wooly hat and gloves)
- having a constant cold/runny nose (it's so hard to eat, kiss, brush your teeth or sleep while having to breath through the mouth)
- it get's dark much much too early, there's hardly any day left after work
- the lack of sunlight makes me feel very unmotivated (and also depressed)
- freezing at bus stops. ugh.
- nature is just dead. even the grass looks sad.
- can't use my terrace. too cold.
- going out of the house, even just to take the trash out or pop something down in the basement, requires a jacket and proper shoes (and therefore is done less often than needed)
- washed clothes take ages to dry inside and take up so much space
