here are two things: the excitement i get from buying new clothes is very fleeting, and owning a lot of it doesn't make me feel happy (quite the opposite, actually). add to that my political & environmental values, and it only makes sense that i should craft a capsule wardrobe.

a capsule wardrobe is a collection of a few essential items of clothing that don't go out of fashion and that can then be augmented with seasonal pieces. there are a lot of pros to it, for example:

  • it saves time + avoids decision fatigue
  • it reduces desire to buy stuff since you already have the basics (fuck consumerism & capitalism)
  • the consistency can be comforting
  • it incites you to be more creative when you wanna switch things up
