this list will have my all time favorite pieces of fanfiction! a warning, most of this stories will be ridiculously long. i love long stories. ☽

• kingdom hearts
  • the heart of a nobody; sora/roxas, 200k+ words - this stories is one of the all times best. it's so excellent, and the writing style is so lovely. it still gives me goosebumps when i read it. (i recommend anything by this author though.)
  • kiss and i will surrender; sora/roxas; 120k+ words - another great piece of work. one of the very first m-rated fics i've read, and it was so chilling and written so well.
  • the seventh apprentice; sora/oc (mainly), 600k+ words - i don't normally read oc stories because holy shit they suck. but this story is one of the best oc stories i've ever read in a long time. the relationship development is the best.
  • fantasia krystallos; sora/roxas; 30k+ words, incomplete - unfortunately, this fic hasn't updated in a while, but it's still really amazing! the concept is so unquie, and i really wish for the fic to update soon. one of these days.
• final fantasy
  • beyond reality tidus/yuna, 150k+ words, ongoing - this story is a rendition of when the events of final fantasy x-2 didn't happen, and the storytelling and writing is jaw dropping. the writer manages to write the relationships in this story so realistically, it's a very pleasing story.
  • a stir of blood; tides/yuna, 50k+, incomplete - another old amazing tides and tuna fiction. this universe is amazing, and the relationship between tides & yuna is simply the best.
  • ordinary heros; fang/lighting, 100k+ words - a universe where fang and lighting are married and have kids. some of the best characterization and storytelling i've ever read.
  • she is the sunlight; vaan/penelo, 50k+ words, mentions of noncon, non-explicit - this story hurts. and in a realistic, oh my god way. the author really took their time to write out these characters and their reactions to what occurs in the story. (noncon is never described in the story.)
• tales of zestiria
  • a light that never goes out; mikleo/sorey, 20k+ words, completed - a oneshot band-ish au sormik fic!!! the best thing you could ever ask for.
• fire emblem: fates
  • joining of worlds; leon/takumi, 90k words, ongoing - a long au-ish fic that develops the relationship of leon and takumi really really well!!! i always fond myself reading this again and again!!
• hunter x hunter
  • dis aliter visum; chrollo/kurapika, 200k+ words - this story is too great. simply one of the best hunter x hunter story i've read. ever.
  • mithridatism; gon/killua, 80k+ words - another great hunter x hunter read. a hxh/tokyo ghoul au, and simply some of the best stories i've ever read. simply impressive.
  • boomerang; gon/killua, 50k+ words - AAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! this is so good, read this. please.
  • one hundred ; gon/killua, 100k+ words - this is one of the best fics i've ever read and the fact that it's incomplete haunts me.
• shingeki no kyojin
  • echo answers; hinted pairings. 200k+ words - one/two of the best attack on titan tics i've ever read. ever. anyone who reads this will simply fall in love with it.
  • vigilantia pretium libertatis; no pairs, 300k+ words - two/two of one of the best attack on titan fics i've read. and it's a superhero au??? everything i wanted and more.
• tokyo ghoul
  • mea culpa mea culpa; no pairs, 200k words, ongoing - the fic that makes you wish the author was writing the actual manga. one reason to read this fic is for ayato and touka's relationship. and the way they write hide.
• owari no seraph
  • afire love; mikaela/yuuchirou. 100k+ words - this is simply one of the best owari no seraph fics there is. simply one of the best alternatives universes fiction ever.
• powerpuff girls (i know)
  • more than human; ppt/rrb, 200k+ words - holy shit. this story is literally too amazing, in terms of characterizations and storytelling. this story is literally an a-list story, with amazing chapters and chapter lengths. simply the best.
