and i accidentally clicked on a COLLEGE CONFIDENTIAL THREAD that basically said it's way better to do a phd first (especially if interest in law is purely academic, which... based on my extremely limited experience with the legal field, it is) and then use that as a ticket (assuming i get into a stellar program, jfc.) to better market myself as a candidate, since nothing about me other than my pd internship really screams I WANNA GO TO LAW SCHOOL!!!! currently. and because this going to law school thing is barely an investigated desire and really only came about as an incredibly remote possibility very, very recently. it's barely even fleshed out or registered as an actual desire of mine. plus... thinking it through... ok like how easy is the GRE actually going to be for me, miss perpetually fails standardized testing? and then adding studying for the LSAT when i literally know nothing and have 293409203942309 tons of doubt to begin with??? and it's all good and well to know exactly what the top programs are, but i'd want a v specific experience out of getting a phd (if i got in. if i survived. and finished with the degree.) which would mean working w/ someone that i truly Believed In and could get along with. and to hinge it all on getting into BOTH--i mean. i was originally gonna just apply to one joint program, but that would require actually taking the LSAT (and paying for the LSAT). so. yaaaaaaaaaaaaaah no PHD FIRST!!!!!!!!111
