My name is Mars. I go by they/them pronouns but I find it interesting to see how others perceive and refer to me so I don't always announce my preference; I like to let others meet me with their own interpretations.

I am transgender, genderqueer, and nonbinary. When I was younger I used some more obscure labels but over time I've found they don't really matter -- I gain no affirmation from them and they are less potent as personal/political signifiers compared to more well-known and historically rooted terms. It is for this reason I refer to myself as bisexual when asked about my sexuality, though I do feel some affinity with asexuality as well. I am queer above all else.

I'm a leftist (anarchist tendency, though I am also open to socialist ideas, for example). I am involved in trade union activism. I practice magick, and while I don't describe myself as a witch, I wouldn't reject that term if it were applied to me. I identify as a vampire in a largely abstract sense. I do not insist on being referred to as such but I feel a sense of kinship with the mythical figure of the vampire and what it has come to represent in certain media contexts.

I am a(n aspiring) furry. My fursona's name is Mercure. They are genderfluid (she/he/they) and they are half fox, half maned wolf, half unicorn.

I live in the UK, as I have done my whole life. I raise this only to highlight my socio-political context (and my ecological context, I suppose).
