- Golden Japanese Curry (Serves 4)
- Ingredients
- 1/2 beef cut into 3cm cubes
- 1 tsp salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 large carrot, chopped
- 3 potatoes, peeled and chopped into 3cms cubes
- 2 and 1/2 cups beef stock
- 1 packed S&B Medium-Hot Curry Sauce Mix
Recipe
- Heat oil in frying pan.
- Season the beef in salt and pepper, brown in pan, then remove.
- In the same pan, heat butter and fry the onion and garlic over low heat until transparent.
- Get out the slow cooker, add meat, onion and garlic, along with carrot and potatoes.
- Add the stock and simmer for all day. Or at least 30 minutes, but all day is best. If not all day, don't bother with slow cooker.
- Break the curry sauce mix into the pot, stir until melted, then simmer for five minutes, stirring.
Beef cubes can be omitted if serving with Tonkatsu. Serve with rice either way.
