anyone with eyes could see that martin was destined for greatness. thus, having a parental figure incapable of sight was not exactly ideal for the young boy. after losing his vision during times of captivity, his father's glory days as a verdelite warrior had come to an end. however, that did little to stop the toll that martin was expected to go through to relive that destiny. the verdelite were brave. they were daunting. they were anything but the little force martin could muster at age 7. but being the only son in his simple family, responsibility fell upon his shoulders early and it wasn't until his father's passing had he decided that pacifism would do him no good. while he couldn't exactly replace the efforts his father had done for the division, he could use his wit and dexterity to his advantage. at the age of 9, he ceased his warrior training to pursue another field he hadn't considered: exploration. at age 13, he was assigned his first mission and at age 16, martin now stands tall in the ranks of verdelite as an elite and youthful scout while residing with his widowed mother, all the while aiding her as the wrinkles of time start to creep up on her as it'd done to her husband.
