ao3 fics
It has been a year since Baji died and Kazutora cannot stop thinking about him in prison. After that year goes by he gets a letter from someone he’d forgotten.
Chifuyu sends letters to Kazutora to ease his own heart in believing that is what Baji would have wanted.
Matsuno Chifuyu, per promise to one deceased Baji Keisuke, picks up Hanemiya Kazutora upon being released from prison. How will Hanemiya Kazutora change his life this time around?
In an attempt to cover up a scar, Chifuyu impulsively decides to get an eerily familiar tattoo. In hindsight, he definitely should've thought about the possible meaning behind it more.
"Grief was a nuanced concept. There was the denial, the anger, bargaining and depression, acceptance. It took him ten whole years to realise that he hadn’t even gone through the first stage yet."
// Matsuno Chifuyu has a lot of things to work on in his life and though he's not anywhere near accepting everything that's happened, he's at least a step closer thanks to Hanemiya Kazutora //
When Kazutora had walked out of that detention center with nothing but the clothes on his back and a plastic grocery bag holding the menial possessions he still had to his name, he truly expected that it would be his last day on earth.
Except Chifuyu had been waiting for him, parked across the street with a welcoming smile on his face, so unabashedly human, and Kazutora’s entire perception of existence had flipped on its head.
or: kazutora and chifuyu help each other remember what it means to live
Hanemiya Kazutora and Matsuno Chifuyu spend the next year of their relationship /hiding/ the fact that they have a relationship.
Kazutora closed his eyes and thought of someone else. He thought of other lips, of other hands, of another body, of another man, touching him in the way he wanted him to do it. Only then, it could be bearable.
Chifuyu would do anything to help Kazutora, He loves him, and that's what matters.
Chifuyu's housemate is a smartphone-illiterate whore, but he's not that bad. Maybe even kind of cute.
Or, the friends to friends with benefits to lovers Torafuyu/Fuyutora fic no one asked for.
Matsuno Chifuyu, with the knowledge of the previous ways his life could've played out if it hadn't been for a certain time traveler, takes it upon himself to follow his gut and invite Hanemiya Kazutora to live with him.
Keisuke is out of the pet shop for the day, leaving Chifuyu and Kazutora to deal with every possible disaster that could happen.
Or, the kazufuyu romcom where Chifuyu is pining, Kazutora burns down some kitchens and the universe has got it out for them. They manage to survive through the day, somehow.
“Hope you don’t mind that we have someone over,” he said, “this is our neighbour, Baji. You know, the one I told you about.”
Kazutoras excitement faltered. He stood still in front of him, blinking at Chifuyu as his little smile fell, replaced by a somewhat concerned frown.
“Matsuno,” he spoke, interrupting Chifuyu before he could end the awkward silence, “who are you talking to?”
// They were roommates and he was the ghost matchmaker nobody expected to get as a bonus //
It was the first and only time he would feel so powerful towards Chifuyu, but at that moment he had no idea about these things. Believed that it would always be like this. Believed that he had the upper hand. The fucking power.
Yet it was Kazutora who would soon feel inferior to Chifuyu in every way possible. For the rest of his messed up life.

Or: How Kazutora learns that just because someone has infinite power over you, doesn't necessarily mean they use it to destroy you.
Just because Takemichi can’t go back to the past right now, that doesn’t guarantee he can’t ever again. A part of Chifuyu is afraid that if he does go back and changes the past, the present will change with it. A present that Chifuyu isn’t willing to give up. Not that he can tell Kazutora about any of this.
[Set during Bonten timeline]
"Well, there you have it. If you asked Keisuke, that’s just how he’d tell you living in a haunted apartment felt like. The only difference pretty much was that his home was haunted by two ghosts instead of one. And maybe it was important to note that said ghosts were pretty much alive."
// Matsuno Chifuyu had a boyfriend. He also had a ghost-friend and he loved them both //
they should’ve never watched coco. they really shouldn’t have watched coco. because now chifuyu’s shirt was drenched in kazutora’s snot and his own. and when kazutora clung to him to sob, “we have to make an altar for him,” chifuyu actually agreed.
an altar for him. how could they not?
I’ll see you in ten years, and maybe we can start again.
Matsuno Chifuyu
On finding a place in a world you no longer know.
chifuyu writes kazutora 365 reasons to live
Reason one had been obvious; It brought Kazutora to tears, something Chifuyu didn’t expect. It made him feel bitterness, pity, remorse, and a cyclone of emotions he couldn’t name but he’d figure out later. “I’ll give you reason two tomorrow.”
“Huh?” Kazutora met his eyes with surprise, tears still there but less prevalent after he’d forced himself to stop crying.
“Do I need to repeat myself?” Chifuyu asked.
Time for Kazutora and Chifuyu's wedding
Chifuyu couldn't believe it.
He stared at the tv, still feeling the ghost of a hand on his head, not daring to take a look at Kazutora's definitely red face and cursing himself for letting the situation escalate that much.
"I've decided, I will stay here with you" Kazutora said firmly "until the end of the line".
"The end of the line?" Chifuyu grimaced. "Don't be so hasty, I'm tired of such macabre talk."
"Everything has an end sooner or later. Nothing lasts forever, and I don't think you get anywhere by pretending it does."
Kisaki taps his glass. “Can we - maybe all calm down, hm?”
“Please” Chifuyu breathes, before he can help, as hysterical now as everyone else. “Like this isn’t exactly what you want”
Kisaki's glasses flash as his gaze lands on him. "Hm, Matsuno?"
The argument is too loud for their conversation to be audible. Hanagaki is shouting, though at what now it’s impossible to know, tears in the corner of his eyes.
“Us” He breathes, because with their eyes locked across the table, Chifuyu finds he can’t find the words. “At each other's throats”
Kisaki frowns, puzzled, and leans on his hand, smiling a soft, simpering thing. “Why would I want that?”
Set during the Bad Toman?Takemitchy Timeline
Matsuno Chifuyu invites Hanemiya Kazutora over to stay despite already having a full house
Kazutora is a tired college student. School sucks, his roommate is ass, everything seems to go wrong for him. Until one day, he crashes into Chifuyu and feels his cold, little bubble getting warmer.
Kazutora has spent seven years chasing after Chifuyu's forgiveness. Realizing he was in love with him was a torturous thought. They were adults but wanting to confess to him he'd never felt like such a child.
KAZUFUYU PILOT AU because it's high in demand
“Chifuyu told me to give you this". It was a voice recorder. Kazutora didn't have to think through to know there was something in that device that Chifuyu wanted him to hear. An audio clip popped up. It was dated yesterday, recorded in the afternoon.
“I know” Chifuyu croaks. He struggles, viscerally, with honesty but forces out; “I hate it. I hate that you are all I have”
Kazutora tries not to let himself feel it, tries not to rise to it with vicious words, not when Chifuyu is so low, gazing over his balcony, features pulled tight. “I hate that you’ve changed, I hate that you’re kind to me, I hate -” And he cuts himself off, shakes his head. “I hate that I need it”
“Chifuyu -” He begins his apology, tight in his throat. Months of unspoken regret, of gnawing violence and repression. Of fights that never boiled over. One that finally did.
Kazutora and Chifuyu fight before they try to heal.
kazufuyu au in which kazutora struggles to write his vows
Sometimes there are bad days. Once a month, maybe twice, or maybe even a few more than that; other times, bad days turn into bad weeks. Once, the continuous stream of bad days lasted for nearly a month.
Or: Chifuyu and Kazutora on the bad days (and the good ones too).
Chifuyu has romantic feelings for his roommate. He's going to confess! ...Eventually.
Meanwhile, everyone thought he and Kazutora were already dating. Seriously, where did they get this idea? Just because Chifuyu and Kazutora act like a domestic couple it doesn't mean they are one! Yet.
He’s crying.
He doesn’t realize it, not until Chifuyu turns off the light and snuggles in underneath the covers with him. He doesn’t realize it, not until Chifuyu’s hand comes up and his thumb swipes across his cheek gently, softly.
Or: Kazutora and Chifuyu—a night together.
High school Chifuyu travels to the future.
Chifuyu learned to care for someone and to let himself be taken care of.
Kazutora learned that to be cared for is not something offered through grand acts of love.
Little stories and bits of how Chifuyu and Kazutora build a friendship and then a relationship through things Kazutora missed out during his teens.
I wanted to write about exploring forgiveness and feeling deserving of good things. I think there needs to be more fics where they're sweet and caring for each other.
the one where chifuyu finds the not-so-perfect solution to put an end to hina's matchmaking.
“Is it so hard to believe that I could have feelings for you?" Chifuyu asks, almost sounding annoyed. "Yes." Kazutora says immediately. He really wasn't expecting a confession from Chifuyu in the middle of some domestic late afternoon kitchen banter. Or a confession from anyone ever at any point in his life, actually, for that matter. Hasn’t entertained the idea of it since he was maybe twelve years old. "Kazutora-kun." Chifuyu's hand stills at the base of his neck. “I want to kiss you. Can I?”
It starts with a dream.
It follows with an even weirder one, a warm one, a scary one and finally, the one that breaks him.
It scares him how real they are, how he can feel everything as if he lived it all, and it doesn't help how they make him question everything about him and Chifuyu.
Or; Kazutora has dreams about a timeline in which he couldn't save Chifuyu.
“Then why don't you finally enlighten me about your so-called plans and let me do it?”
Kazutora is literally yelling at him now, every syllable drenched in frustration.
“Because it’s way too damn dangerous!” Chifuyu shouts back and something inside him snaps. It’s too much. The conversation, the whole damn evening, Kazutora is too much.
–
Or: Everyone has their limits. Kazutora makes Chifuyu reach his.
Softly, he says, "I think we should do this more often."
"Do what?"
"Fuck in the mornings."
“let’s switch things up tonight.” one by one, the buttons of his shirt were undone, as soft, wet lips roamed the area behind his ear. kazutora knew where to get him. “i’ll make you feel so good, i promise.” and just like that, his laptop was closed shut.
in which chifuyu is kind of an irresponsible adult (not really) and lets kazutora fuck the stress out of him.
