My mother used to cook this a lot, it was a poor man's recipe that didn't use ground beef and went very well with lots of rice because of the salt content. She used to use hot dogs, or sometimes, chinese sausages.
- Cook garlic in oil until garlic smell comes off the pot
- Put in green beans chopped into 1 centimeter cubes
- Cube hot dogs into cubes of similar size, they should look like quarters of cylinders 1 cm tall, like a pie quarter.
- Saute and add in soy sauce and salt to taste, should achieve a caramelized char on green beans before adding a teaspoon or two of water to cook through. Do not let them get soggy, should have a firm bite still.
- Serve with rice!
