Marinated Tofu and Pork slices is one of my favorite foods-- probably ranked #4 for me on my top foods list. It's savory, with good chewiness from the soy sauce and spiced tofu, and some tender pieces of meat. The crisp green onion adds some freshness and bite. My grandma taught me how to cook the dish while staying at our house during the summer of 2018. I helped chip off the red nail polish from her left hand and she taught me that China has the best tasting marinaded tofu, obviously.
First of all, chop marinaded tofu into thin slices 1 mm thick. Marinate the pork with cooking wine and cornstarch, some salt, and a bit of water. Stir into hot oil and stirfry. Add pork and cook until not pink on the outside, then add water to boil and soften the tofu. Add sugar to taste. Once tofu is soft, add green onions and cook until water is reduced and green onions are cooked through but still crisp.
Enjoy with white rice.
