- a pair of socks with 100g of fingering weight yarn
- cast on 42 stitches for smaller than 4.5 mm
- top down socks
- purl 2, knit 2, double ribbed for 8 rows
- Knit entire row, purl entire row, for 8 rows (stockinette stitch for 8 rows)
- Divide the stitches in half with a marker
- Knit 17 stitches, leave 18th stitch not done.
- Turn work around, do purl stitches for the 16 stitches you just did.
- Turn work around, do knit stitches for 15, leaving 2 stitches not done.
- When you have 5 stitches on both side not done, knit all the way across the sock with knit, then purl back, all the way across.
- Stockinette knit 1 purl 1 until 30 rows.
- For the tip of the sock, divide the stitches into 18 stitches, left and right. Knit all the way across the row, until you reach the end. Leave the last stitch.
- Purl half the row (having left the last stitch)
- Decrease the stitches until 5 open on left and 5 open on right
- keep working towards the middle, then take out the marker
- sew the two sides together with tapestry needle
- sew up the side of the sock with tapestry needle
