• Using Magic Loop Method for knitting socks in the round
• Loose Cast On 44 stitches, or 48, 56, 60, 64.
  • Place a marker between 22 heel stitches and 22 instep stitches.
  • Knit 1 Purl 1 repeat in the round for 1 inch of knitting.
  • Knit entire round for 1 row.
• Heel Flap
  • Working on 22 stitches for heel
  • Slip stitch, knit to end
  • Slip stitch Purl 1, repeat, Wrong Side

Do this 20 times, (10 total rows, plus 1 row at the end)

• Turn the Heel
  • Sl1, K12, SSK, K2Together,K1, TURN WORK
  • Sl1, p5, p2tog, p1 TURN WORK
  • Sl1, k to gap, Knit2ether(the gap stitches), K1, TURN WORK
  • Sl1, p to gap, Purl2gether(the gap stitches) P1 TURN WORK

OR

• Sl1, P12, P2 together, P1, Turn work, (inverse instructions above)

(Decreasing stitches somehow and turning the heel)

• Repeat rows 3-4 until all sts have been worked.

22-10 = 12 stitches left

• Foot
  • Pick up stitches along the heel flap on left side. Do this 11 times. Pick up by inserting needle through V and knitting normally.
  • Turn work so that the instep side faces you. Pull the needle out from the pick up stitch side and let it go long, put the needle back into instep side.Insert marker after Gusset knitting
  • K across instep side.
  • Place another marker to split instep and gusset.
  • Use same needle that is now IN instep stitches and pick up 11 stitches on the other side of sock.
  • Knit 6 stitches onto the hole between this side of instep and the heel flap, and you have the beginning of the new round for the foot.
  • 20 Instep stitches so split in half, 10 on each side, pull the cord through.

Foot

• ROW 1 Knit in the round, when 3 stitches from the first marker, knit 2 together, knit 1. Knit across instep stitches normal. When you mean the new marker, knit 1, knit 2 together, knit to the end.
• ROW 2 Knit normal one round.
• Continue this row 1 row 2 until back down to original number of stitches.
• Then knit normal for foot in round.

Toe

• When three stitches from marker, knit 2 together, knit 1, (slip marker), knit 1, knit 2 together.

Tip

• Half stitches on top needle, half on botom needle
• Knit off, purl on, (top needle)
• Purl off, knit on (bottom needle)
