Pretty much all you need to do for this is write 5 things, these can be people's names, places, emotions, a film title, song title, band, anything that sums up your day, do it each day on your listography for a year, copy and paste this at the top of the list so people know what this list is all about. - 01: • sleep definitely back on schedule • studying getting better but still slow • not gonna miss a day on Fallen London or Neopets Advent Calendars - priorities • got perfect gift for sister's new journey to PT school - a black and white art print with a quote by Melville • started The Runaways which already has a place in my heart
- 02: • red velvet cheesecake for just $2 • studying getting better but still slow • 139.8 lb. now, roughly • studying better, knowledge base better • old black snow/bad weather boots look great w/ rusty trawler corduroys
- 03: • mental health day I won't regret bc I'm going into turbo mode • bought my allotted quotient of junk • The Boy is...distant and weird but still a friend I'm not sure we'll see but he's going to water my plants • planned what I'm packing for the trip home • check-in w/ mom reinvigorated me and it was good to know cousin was ok but could've used more human contact
- 04: • finally went for a run for what feels like the first time in forever • bought that beautiful Kaonashi plushie who became my faithful studying companion • found a publication to follow that will keep me updated on local arts events • think I've conquered my depression-induced aversion to adventuring in cold weather • successfully cut back on food after a stress junk night
- 05: • made note of poetry inspiration from coffee shop the other day that I intend to put to use over break • spent my own money on junk; couldn't help it but kept track of calories regardless • balanced checkbook • installed sticky bug traps in plants - hopefully they revitalize my peace lily • wrote definitive twitter manifesto abt love/hate relationship development keyword "zutara" to find
- 06: • started Star Trek: Discovery which mom will love • bought and reviewed the first issue of the wonderful "Sleepless" comic • reminded of zutara fandom and my need to establish myself in it somehow through fanwork after rewatching the show • slept when I'd planned not to but ultimately probably for the best • ate way too much pasta bc sometimes it be like that
- 07: • first exam - totally finished the whole thing • nearly done catching up on Saga • discovered good light meal base for when nervous - crepes • again slept when I'd planned not to but ultimately probably for the best • totally normal (good) diet again
- 08: • second exam - finished all but least expensive portion in terms of points • cute Indian guy attempted to hit on me maybe? • considered import of The Boy's awkward sweet convo w/ me and offer to practice Spanish • bought Boom Chocolatta to celebrate and still barely went over calorie total • lengthy wonderful convo w/ mom
- 09: • first snow of the season • ran in the snow up the hill to the park • bought volume of poetry by Louise Glück • greeted by friendly anons when I returned to tumblr • started delayed Noirvember
- 10: • caught up with Saga • fretted • stayed up all night • actually managed to get substantial studying done • take-home portion of exam was hopefully sufficient
- 11: • finished exam thoroughly and entirely though seemingly lots of trick questions • more boom chocolatta • exhausted so had to sleep some • good convos w/ roommates • woke up early to pack everything up and left apartment neat and clean
- 12: • beautiful train station filled w/ baltimoreans of all sorts • outlined exam on train • ate seven mandarin oranges • made parents proud and had the best potatoes in the world while regaling them w/ tales of the semester-long journey home • slept like a log

- 14: • first run home on the boardwalk w/ mom • introduced her to star trek • saw grandma again, watched Godless w/ her • more of mom's amazing cooking (burgers w/ blue cheese) and Florentine candy • freaked out abt net neutrality rules being repealed but felt better abt it after first convo w/ Rachel in a while
- 15: • went into mountains w/ dad • wonderful convos about his trips and my future plans • frozen lakeside vista • mountaintop panorama for miles • drive took us above misty summits, or at least to their level
- 16: • six-mile run - longest in perhaps half a year • took halfway-point photo that mom ordered sent to her phone on sight • first long, hot, self-indulgent bath in half a year • re-engaged w/ social media • caught up w/ 5 things meme
- 17: • went on a long walk in the mountains again w/ dad • finished Shadow & Bone and wrote an emotionally resonant review • began work on julip portion of tulipcass fic • realized I need to eat when I'm rly hungry or I'm ravenous even after dinner • continued trend of increased efficiency while helping mom out - this time peeling potatoes
- 18: • began The Marriage of Feducci • revisited Zombies Run and greatly enjoyed it • running miles w/in 10-11 minutes • have diligently kept up w/ hygiene since I got home • skin is clear and mom is overjoyed abt it
- 19: • read 80 pgs of The Last Anniversary and finished it - something I haven't been able to do w/ a book in yrs • revisited Zombies Run and greatly enjoyed it • got a bunch of lovely new sweaters as I have so few sets of warm clothes and a new pair of jeans that didn't fit me before • worked out more state residency stuff w/ The Boy + he seemed overly helpful but was maybe just being bossy • wept and bonded over The Last Jedi's personal relevance w/ mom + grandma surprisingly loved it too
- 20: • began The Children of Húrin, my first Tolkien book in ages • sister and her bf got home, wonderful to see her and meet him • started HQ by playing w/ them, a quiz app I'm unsurprisingly good at • bf loved all of dad's dad jokes like that one abt the golden wish-granting fish and the beer lake • helped make all the delicious pizzas and drank Angry Orchard hard cider and Purple Haze beer
- 21: • out on the town w/ sister, cousins, sister's bf • found great future purchases related to birding, cooking in Chocolate Paper • ate too much but it was all delicious esp my mom's meatballs and pecan bars and lemon cheesecake • cemented the appellation "elephant's back" as the eponym of the family air mattress I slept on while bf was here • spent too much time dealing w/ The Last Jedi haters on blog and twitter but made good arguments so somewhat worth it maybe
- 22: • avoided yelling at ppl on the internet • worked on assignment that shall not be named, will continue tmrw • didn't overeat on day after major family reunion even which is a first for me in a long time • made big progress on another book, The Last Goodnight
- 23: • big convo w/ mom & dad abt how we're good ppl who don't need to take shit from incorrigible relatives • watched Bright w/ whole fam • read and played neopets and fallen london (FL) instead of engaging in social network interaction • tired so went to sleep early like a good girl
- 24: • horrible family fight but brought mom and I closer • watched White Christmas which was a delight + the tail-end of It's a Wonderful Life and first ep of Howard's End miniseries • still maintaining diet well and didn't OD on chocolate • bought lengthy storyline on FL - Flint
- 25: • early morning Christmas walk to boardwalk w/ mom + coffee • dad brought over old Polish friends which was weird but is repentant so it's enough for me • beautiful Italian leather toilet article kit, socks, chair for room from October for Christmas (plus FL stuff I got myself) • watched American Fable & 1922 w/ mom - alongside FL, good reminder of existential horror, brevity, and beauty of mortality that is surprisingly appropriate for Christmas
- 26: • great run I didn't initially think I had time for • finally got to grocery shop w/ mom - jellybeans, goober, etc. for trip • made sure cousin knew I appreciated her cooking - good dinner of mac n cheese + stuffed mushrooms w/ difficult part of family • watched It's Always Sunny Christmas ep w/ cousin, read her psych paper on Charlie, rebooted our endeavour in neopets together, laughed and had a generally great time
- 27: • more French lessons - mom is remembering things! • finally got to grocery shop w/ mom - jellybeans, goober, etc. for trip • packed everything + finished up MD residency app • embarked on trip to Camping Bowl in FL w/ dad
- 28: • stayed up all night w/ dad listening to sweet tunes like the gotg soundtrack • successfully found car via GPS and navigated out of Orlando while dad was having anxiety attack and he was def impressed • ate dark lunch of chocolate-covered blueberries, grilled cheese, & kettle-baked chips in dish towel while watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on my Kindle • thoroughly enjoyed first non-high school football game
- 29: • 18-hour drive w/ dad was actually best part • Mrs. Maisel + lunch again • got Whole Blends leave-in conditioner which proved v effective • wrote well-received meta on Luke's arc in The Last Jedi
- 30: • tried to set up bonding time w/ family but sister dealing w/ end of college blues and cousin too busy • began neopets pages renovation • wore my hair princess-style for first time in long time • another great run in the cold - kept ipod warm in inside pocket of pink running jacket
- 31: • realized just now I've only been writing 4 things a day for last week or so! ah well there's substance enough that I can say w/o guilt that it might as well be 5 • worked through feelings of judgment by family w/ mom & still had good bday w/ her and her carnations and strawberry and tiramisu cake from Fresh Market • ran in below 20 degree weather & phone self-destructed but warmed by my own body's effort brought on by exercise and all alone alongside the frozen river, I could not have been happier • put together reasonable list of New Year's resolutions - what a relief and a source of pride it is to know I can realistically uphold them
