Every cook has something that is fairly simple that they just can't manage to do. Here's my shortlist:

  • coffee - it's like being cursed, and I have tried several methods and coffee makers. Nothing helps. I've all but given up on it.
  • hard boiled eggs - I can never get the consistency right. Either they come out still soft, or too hard.
  • meringue - I made good meringue once. I have no idea how to replicate it though, so it must have been a fluke
