• Star Trek - Eh, it works for what it is: a big budget summer blockbuster (aren't they always?)
  • Terminator - Deep disappointment that no humans were ultimately killed by machines in this movie.
  • Up - Carl is my new hero. You need to go see it.
  • Away We Go - Very entertaining, although also somewhat flawed. Good if you like vignettes and situational humor.
  • Year One - (shut up!) There's nothing Jack Black will not do to take a joke to its uncomfortable extremes. Nothing.
  • Public Enemies - It was good, but half hour too long. Could have done with less close-ups of Christian Bale, and that's saying something given how much I love that guy.
  • Moon - Sam Rockwell vs. Sam Rockwell... Great casting! A meditation on memory, identity and personhood. Highly reccomended
  • 500 Days of Summer - Thought it would be a love letter to Zoe Deschanel, it turned out to be a love letter to Joseph Gordon Levitt.
  • G.I. Joe - Not as horrible as expected. But most of the people involved could have done better.
  • Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - Eh. Not that bad. At least it did not feature a perpetually bitchy Hermione like in the book.
  • Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea - In agreement with critics who say it's like the Little Mermaid as told by a hyperactive 3 year old.
  • District 9 - The sort of movie where you think you won't like the protagonist, and you're ready to give him a hug by the end of the movie. Already waiting for sequel.
