tend to really enjoy anything that

• has an interesting instrumental
• is minimal or very clean and complex
• is bitter or bittersweet in tone
• is bass heavy with soft and/or sparkly trebles
• is somewhat lossy or lo-fi

i don't /really/ have favourite artists, but there are some whose discographies seem to appeal to me more than others
