- On my 23rd birthday, rode slides at the water park, rode a carousel at the zoo and admired monkeys in the pouring rain, drank Jameson, attended comfest in a fabulous flower crown, smoked lots of excellent weed and did some Molly, ate unicorn cake, drank craft beers at a snooty hipster brewery that looked like a garage, and received an ice cream cone-shaped lamp, an iPad, the Virgin Suicides on DVD, Dangerous Angels, and a piñata filled with candy and weed. Best birthday ever.
- Got a new car!! A lovely forest green Subaru Outback
- Hiked in the mountains of North Carolina in intermittent rain and spotted not one but four venomous snakes
- Drank my first mint julep
- Bought matching unicorn leggings with my cool cousin Frazier in Boone
- Had the lamest Fourth of July ever, no fireworks due to torrential downpours. Spent the evening huddled under a tent with a slew of drunk Southern yuppies, drinking Jack from the bottle in a sequined pink dress. Boogied to Mustang Sally with a 14 year old
- Smoked weed with my father for the third time. Still a little weird, but cool at the same time
- Baked a lemon angel food cake and garnished it with zinnias for my father's birthday dinner
- Took the boat out on the marsh and bodysurfed while a storm rolled in, got high behind a sand dune. Found shark egg pouches and sand dollars
- Swam naked in the sea in Hilton Head
- Rode a horse by myself on a dirt road in Georgia, on a quiet rainy morning
- Watched my baby brother learn how to swim
- Ate the best damn barbecue I've ever tasted, shrimp and grits, veal, homemade ice cream, and I Dream of Weenies' Rebel Yelp hot dog with jalapeños and Tennessee chow chow
- Picked blueberries in a storm
- Got my first tattoo!
- Went on my first autonomous road trip, from Athens, GA to Ohio, by way of Bowling Green
- Discovered a wealth of amazing music
- Hung out in east Nashville and ate a Rebel Yelp hot dog at I Dream of Weenies: drank bloody Mary's at Three Crows, ate birthday cake ice cream and looked at vintage guitars, played pool in a punk dive, bought a Howlin Wolf record at Grimey's
- Met the love of my life
- Floated in inner tubes down the Stones River in Tennessee, drinking Budweiser and smoking blunts with southern boys, later ran the car into a ditch and had to be pulled out by a tow truck
- Went camping at Barren Lake, swam and made love in a tent, ate s'mores and hot dogs cooked on the grill
