  • aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe benjamin saenz
    • ★★★★☆ read this on christmas day in one sitting. heartwarming and a good coming of age book, but that's about it. i wish i knew more of dante, but ari is a character that hit too close to home. he's mostly the reason why i gave this book 4 stars.
  • avi cantor has six months to live sacha lamb
    • ★★★★☆ nothing like relating so goddamn hard to a book character you start tearing up. cute story about two transboys falling in love, i wish it was longer, and the plot about the magic was interesting yet too short, but it's a refreshing read nonetheless
  • i wish you all the best mason deaver
    • ★★★☆☆ heartwarming, coming of age story about a nonbinary character, which i loved and could relate to, but the characters were kinda flat. i only kind of cared about the love story in the end, but i found myself not caring enough at all. average book at best
  • percy jackson and the olympians rick riordan
    • the lightning thief - ★★★★☆ good introduction book for the series. it wasn't boring and made me wanting to read more, considering this was a long series, and that doesn't happen often. i absolutely adore percy.
    • the sea of monsters - ★★★☆☆ kind of boring compared to the first one but interesting enough for me to read it in one sitting, feels like a filler book but still good.
    • the titan's curse - ★★★★★ NICO!!!!!! probably my favorite pjo book (not only because of the di angelos), the plot picked itself up here and this is where i shed my first tear. i got attached to the hunters and of course, 10 year old nico :(
    • the battle of the labyrinth - ★★★★☆ these poor kids oh my god
    • the last olympian - ★★★★★ SO GOOD!! i was on the edge of my seat the whole time, absolutely loved the twists and how it ended + will solace introduction book ahaha
  • the gentleman's guide to vice and virtue mackenzie lee
    • ★★☆☆☆ DNF like halfway through it i just cannot stand the main character (monty) anymore. i'm sad because i was looking forward in reading this one because it had decent reviews in goodreads, but holy shit monty is a very self-centered jerk. i had a good laugh or two in between the jokes, but i was just not feeling it. i loved the love interest (percy, haha..) and i kinda wish this book was just his pov, yknow. overall not terrible book, but would not pick it up again.
  • the song of achilles madeline miller
    • ★★★★☆ the rawest and purest love of all. i knew what was going to happen but it still catches me off guard every time. the words and metaphors used were absolutely captivating, and the way they describe the simplest things still managed to tug my heartstrings. although i wished patroclus was not portrayed like a soft boy who can't fight here, afaik he was one of the strongest and greatest warriors alongside achilles. still, reading this after seeing them in hades (game) was kind of heavy
