obsessions
- dunkin's blueberry pomegranate coconut refresher.... took a sip and almost passed out it was so good. paired with a toasted blueberry bagel? There Are No Words!
- resonances between books on my shelves, the correspondence that they unwittingly have, narratives about wittgenstein + foucault that mirror one another, and these two among my favorite philosophers...
- staying up too late writing in my notebook when i have to be up dreadfully early the next morning... no one was surprised!
moments
- spring thunderstorms! the rain pouring whilst we're safely ensconced in the store. a little break, curling up in the chair in classic lit with a notebook, writing as the rain thrums quietly on the roof above...
- cherry pie for cherry boy sorley! cherry pie for cherry boy sorley !!!
good things about the month
- the evocative i danmark er jeg født; the first thunderstorm of the spring; rainy friday afternoons at work; the classic dana's-going-on-a-thrift-store-and-dunkin-run-at-9-am look, the ever comfy big sweatshirt and track shorts; wild poppies growing here and there; sunbeams slipping through the dark clouds; an eagerly-awaited book in the mail; kierkegaard display for his birthday; charting the waters of wittgenstein's work; sousa's gallant seventh; strawberry cake with strawberries fresh from the greenhouses; shelving books as liszt plays sweetly overhead; coconut refreshers for days; scarcely legible notes; the plays of george bernard shaw; afternoons w nikolai, laughing and chattering with him in my minimal french; finishing a book in a single day; the insistent song of the cicadas; a cherry pie, as per tradition, for my sweetest sorley; essayistic writing; anne carson interviews; the stitch in time i slip through, hours disappearing in a blink, whilst doing research; strawberry lip balm; ideas scribbled on the backs of old envelopes;
