Background

(The brothers know each other's birth names and their aliases from before the fires)

Meiroth was born in a small village on the forest floor of the Humblewood. His parents working as hunters, he grew up as a regular vulpin with his younger brother Moaroth. The brothers both took an interest in the arts. Meiroth specialised in small weaponry, specifically knives and daggers, which he used for wood and bone carving and throwing them with great accuracy. Moaroth, on the other hand, developed an interest in acrobatics and dance.

Until their 10th and 11th years, the brothers lived peacefully and happily. Then the fires came. The village was destroyed and their birth home, their parents still inside, engulfed by the flames. The two brothers managed to escape the destruction, but in the chaos Moaroth disappeared.

Overcome by grief and confusion, Meiroth decided to leave the Woods forever, taking on the alias of Jupp. He ended up wandering the streets of nearby human (?) settlements, homeless and rejected by the locals. After about a year a circus passed through town. One evening Meiroth snuck in to watch a show when he was caught by some of the staff. Instead of punishing him, they took pity on the young fox and let him join their band of performance artists.

Meiroth intended to stay with the circus until the end of his days, assuming his brother was killed in the fires after all. But his past started catching up with him, and questions started to gnaw at him. What made him assume Moaroth was dead? Unlike their parents, Moaroth's body was never found. Was it possible he was still alive? And if so, shouldn't Meiroth be out looking for his brother?

When he could no longer ignore the questions in his head, Meiroth left the circus to try and find out what happened to his brother in the aftermath of the fires. He begun traveling, making a living hunting and doing odd jobs at farms and in towns whenever he could under the alias of Rolph. Eventually he joined a group of adventurers, introducing himself as Frederick.

Throwing weapons & stuff

  • Melee weapons that have the thrown property only use Strength: Handaxe, Javelin, Light hammer, Spear & Trident
  • Melee weapons that have the thrown and finesse property use either Strength or Dexterity: Dagger
  • Melee weapons without the thrown property use Dexterity if you throw them as an improvised weapon (1d4 damage, Range 20/60). This applies even to finesse weapons because when you throw say, a rapier, it is not being used as a rapier but rather as an improvised weapon and they don't have the finesse property.
