January: EXO's song Power is the first K-pop song to be played at the Dubai Water Fountain. The song was featured in a water show complete with original choreography. EXO members (excluding Lay, D.O.) visited Dubai to watch the show and participated in various interviews.

February: EXO performed at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony on February 25. EXO member Kai performed a traditional solo dance while EXO performed remixes of their hit songs "Growl" and "Power."

March: EXO have been chosen to be representatives for MLB Korea for their campaign.

April: The Korean Minting and Security Printing Corporation began making and selling EXO silver medals for their status as Korea's Top Idol Group. The medals were made to award EXO for their contribution to the Hallyu wave. EXO members Kai, Baekhyun, and Suho received the medals in person.

May: EXO-CBX's reality show, Travel the World on EXO's Ladder: CBX Edition premiered. The show has a total of 40 episodes and airs on Oksusu.

June: EXO-CBX are appointed as Safety Ambassadors by Korean government. EXO are appointed as honorary ambassadors of tourism by the Korea Tourism Organization. They will film commercials to advertise/promote Korean tourism.

July: EXO has won a poll created by FIFA and their song "Power" will be played at the quarterfinals of the World Cup. EXO is the first group to have an LED show on the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
