- come up with a good organizational/naming system early on
- the moment you notice that your system is not so good, change it before it becomes any harder to change
- even if you decide to abandon going down a certain avenue at the moment, save and organize any work you did in case you decide to come back later
- if you know that you are doing something inefficiently then ask questions or learn more about writing code
- don't save stuff to the desktop, stop slacking on organization
- be conscious of your posture if you are working for several hours at a time
