He stared blankly at his brother.

  • "What?"

His brother seemed unphased.

  • "You heard me."
  • "Why would you do that?"

The question sounded emotionless. Neutral. It sounded like a statement more than a question. There was an awkward silence. The rain hit the window of the hotel room they stayed in.

  • "It was the only logical choice." his brother says, looking away.
  • "No, the logical choice was not to attempt murder in public, Ezekiel."

Ezekiel turns to face his brother.

  • "You cannot talk about murder after April 6th, Raymond," Ezekiel responds, "that was worse than what I tried"
