ON THE OUTSIDE:

  • It will be a large Victorian house with two floors, and an attic and basement. It will fulfill my fantasies of houses.
  • It will have a large, covered porch for children to run along. It will be complete with rocking chairs and laughter.
  • The front yard shall have thousands of herbs, flowers, and all sorts of smell goods. It will draw the eye wonderfully.
  • The back yard will be a haven of wondrous thoughts. It will include a comfort zone with a hammock and big trees for shade. It will be a poet's very spot for opening a journal for wise words with the trickling of a pond.
  • The house should have an abundant amount of land. It will be in a neighborhood, but a small, quiet type with old houses and wide streets. A small town feel would do perfectly.

THE FIRST FLOOR:

  • The front door shall be old and creak with secrets. Hardwood floors will sigh with every step a person takes. From the foyer, will come the living room on the left complete with bookshelves, knick knacks, and vintage-y furniture in tasteful colors.
  • Across the way on the right of the foyer, will be the small dining room. It shall have the appropriate size company table and chairs. It will also be filled with art pieces along the walls.
  • Through the pocket sliding door will be a large and spacious kitchen, complete with appliances and enough cabinet space. The walls will have hooks for my teacups and it will feel as a cottage would.
  • At the far end of the kitchen is another opening with a large window. This is used as a breakfast nook with a smaller, wooden table and flowers upon it.
  • A door shall lead from the side of the kitchen and take you down the hall to the laundry room with front loaders and shelves for clothes, etc.
  • The house will also have a library complete with floor to ceiling bookshelves and a sliding ladder. The ceiling with have a mural upon it. It is a writer's every wish.
  • Along the hallway will be a half bath for the company's need. Small, but obviously very charming.
  • The hallway will be lined with photographs, paintings, and history. It will lead you to the winding staircase.

THE SECOND FLOOR:

  • In this house will be several bedrooms for the children. At least three, done in the fashion of which they've chosen.
  • Two bathrooms will be on this floor also.
  • The master bedroom will be a sanctuary for the masters of the home, complete with a California king size bed, a bathroom with a clawfoot shower/tub, and a walk in closet.
  • Through one wall will be a door which leads to my writing room, complete with a beautiful desk, typewriters, reference books, extraordinary art pieces, and shelves lined with books and collected journals. There will also be a hidden stairwell in the far wall which leads to the attic.

THE ATTIC:

  • This will be a palace of history and treasures of troves. It will have all the trunks of heirlooms, clothes, and everything a grandmother left cherished to me.

THE BASEMENT:

  • This will be the place to store all of the holiday treasures and to hold my jars of homemade goods. A wooden stairwell will lead you to the dimly lit area.
