I've recently been looking into 'Barefoot' Shoes & zero-drop shoes. There are supposedly many benefits to them, but it's all in early debate. + Supports natural feedback systems. + Allows for free movement of toes, and free growth for our feet. We won't be slowly growing our feet in a narrow mold. +'Strengthen' Feet and legs. (a wider range of muscles is engaged while walking or running) + Run 'Naturally' with softer landings and less impact when not running with a heel strike. + Can improve balance. = Going barefoot lowers the blood pressure, overall tension in the body and the levels of the stress hormone cortisol. But does that happen in barefoot shoes? - Too fast of a transition can cause arch pain, as the support in modern shoes is gone. - Without a proper foot strike and cadence barefoot shoe running will hurt. Ones i like: Hiking boots: Vivobarefoot - Tracker FG £190, Lems - Boulder boot £120-160, Boots: Vivobarefoot - Fullham Suede £155, Wildling Oriole - £100 Trainer: Lems - Primal 2 £105, Vivobarefoot - Primus £120-120, Merrell - Vapour gloves £80, Flats: Vivobarefoot - JingJing £80-110, Ahinsa - Ballerina £150, Softstar - Ballerine £150, Joe nimble - Step shoes £110-150 (Doesn't ship to UK) Sandles: Xeroshoes - DIY sandles £30 OR z-trail £80, Earthrunners - circadian £80, Softstar - Solstice £100.
