Firstly, where do i even spend my money?

  • Food shopping - essential and snacks.
  • Meals out, or cafe lunches.
  • Clothes shopping.
  • Subscriptions, apps, micro transactions, new games.

F O O D ------ I plan to eat well, but only buy the essentials. I want to avoid unhealthy habits or food that will just go to waste.

  • Buy non brand, instead of brand. As the pennies, or pounds make a difference in the long run.
  • Search for and purchase products that are reduced. But if it is not needed, don't give into the cheaper price.
  • MAKE A SHOPPING LIST. And stick to it. Don't buy food you think you make use, or that can be nice. Stick to what you're planning. Which leads into -
  • MEAL PLAN. Do this week by week, or even by the month if you can. When you know what you're going to eat, and you stay by this you won't buy unnecessary food.
  • Left overs are good! They give you easy food for the next day. This can help you avoid grabbing a sandwich when you're out.
  • Eat out as little as possible, once a month or even not at all. It could taste nice, but you can make the meal for cheaper. (unless its very low quality cheap food, which you're better off not having anyways).

C L O T H I N G ----- I'm not going to buy new clothing for this next month (End of April, and may)to save money and get more use out of what i have already bought.

  • Don't buy brand new clothing! Buy second hand. Better for the environment and much cheaper.
  • If you want to buy new, think where it's from. Is the brand known for using sweat shops? Are the products made to last or not? Is it just fast fashion? Are you just buying into the new trend? Will you wear this product a lot? Is it necessary?

O T H E R ------

  • Cancel your subscriptions that you don't use on a day to day basis, or that don't make you truly happy. (I for example have canceled my Runescape membership, which i haven't played in months!)
  • Try to buy a game you want second hand. Even better try borrow it from a friend first and see if it's worth investing in.
  • Don't buy micro transactions in games or apps. They're never worth it, and don't really affect you day to day life. (I very rarely buy these sort of things, but every few months i might. It's best not to, but if you want to still, try limit it to once every few months, and under £5)

------------------------------------------------------ I'm going to include a small meal diary below -

  • 1st, Bagel w butter and jam (yumm), fruits, I had a take out with friends! (Oops! but celebrating end of uni year) I got pizza and some chips. Yummy chips, but the pizza was mediocre, at least it means leftovers! --- (DAILY EST: £8.40)
  • 2nd, Left over pizza, 2x banana, Tomato, pepper, red lentil soup with homemade bread (well, my boyfriend made me it!), FREE veggie hotdog and burger at my university! ---(DAILY EST £2.20)
