I have somewhat of a sick obsession with watching really depressing movies. Sometimes they don't make me cry, in fact, sometimes movies that should make me cry don't, and other less obvious movies send me into tears. Anyway, heres some of the movies that no matter how many times I watch them, I always tear up by the end.
- I am Sam - from the moment Sam and Lucy are separated until the credits role, I'm a complete mess
- Life as a House - this movie leaves me happy-depressed, I'm smiling through my tears
- Sense and Sensibility - Marianne, crying in the rain and calling out Willoughby's name, makes my heart ache
- Reign Over Me- I've only seen this movie once because I think that's all my nerves can handle, but my god, it made me ball like a baby
- The Land Before Time - this movie was to me what Bambi seems to be to the rest of society. Watching Littlefoot mourn his mother's death in the rain when a treestar falls totally changed childhood
- Dead Poet's Society - "O captain, my captain"
- 13 Going on 30 - when Mark Ruffalo makes his speech to Jennifer Garner at the climax of the film, it's just so heartbreaking
- Moulin Rouge - oh the drama between Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman
- Triumph of the Spirit - another movie I've only been able to make it through once, but the storyline alone is enough to make you tear up: Man and his family are brought to Auschwitz, and man is forced to box for the Nazi's entertainment or else his family will be slaughtered
- The Bridges of Madison County - the conflict in Meryl Streep's face as she contemplates pulling the car door open and running into Clint Eastwood's arms is almost unbearable
