- Take control of your life (this means physically, emotionally, and mentally)
- Accept the fact that you CANNOT change other people or how they act towards you but you CAN change the way you react or receive their reactions (plus how right can they actually be? It's not like they're life gurus AND perceptions and opinions are always to some degree at fault)
- Find a balance (What makes you happy? Physically strengthen your body by doing activities YOU like. Emotionally stabilize yourself by accepting your faults and your strengths. And continue building relationships with people who actually value you as a person while removing or breaking ties with those who don't. Mentally enhance your mind by reading books that challenge your thoughts. Read articles and listen to various stand points because you cannot mentally grow as a person if you are limiting your ideas by listening to people whose opinions only reaffirm or validate your own)
- Continue drinking your morning cup of coffee (because YES you hate tea so accept that) and try and squeeze in two morning newspaper articles (one national and one international)
- Financially plan your budget (if you say you're going to only buy lunch twice a week then do that. Also take out the money that you plan to spend that week in cash ONLY because you know once that runs out you SHOULD be cut out)
- Join a book club
- Keep in touch with your international friends because they miss you and you miss them
- Take pleasure in eating (which means savor every bite)
- Accept responsibility if you mess up: don't sit and mope, but think how can I fix this? What actions can I take to remedy this action?
- Find happiness in every day things (If a child says they like your hair then by all means feel flattered and be thankful, children hardly lie)
- Every time something upsets you make a positive and negative list for it (if the positive side is overpowering the negative then it means it's time to let go, because it is most likely not worth getting upset over)
