[ WangXian ]

  • the noise of silence, T
    • The Cloud Recesses, by their very nature, are the perfect place for study and quiet contemplation. The soft, enveloping silence and the fresh mountain air. Arguably the most extensive library in the cultivation world at his very fingertips. The very essence of the place is deliberately designed to encourage academic advancement. Wei Wuxian, by his very nature, prefers a little more chaos.
  • The Simplest Way Forward, E
    • It’s a really unfortunate thing, developing a crush on your husband. Wei Ying had assumed this would be easy. Lan Zhan had been so icy and unpleasant to him, it had never occurred to him that he might end up spending the next however many years with this dumb, burning feeling in his chest whenever he looks at him
        • literally!!!so!!!cute!!!! im jyst this was beyond adorable
  • Just As Much, E
    • Wei Wuxian never would have believed he was a cut-sleeve until he met a man as good as Lan Wangji. Lan Wangji was one of the best men Wei Wuxian has ever known; always going where there was chaos, helping those in need, being virtuous, righteous, and always the most beautiful man in Wei Wuxian’s eye. He knew he was blessed to have a husband as wonderful as Hanguang-Jun, who spoiled him with affection anytime Wei Wuxian whined for it. Wei Wuxian wasn’t the jealous type. Even when others tended to overlook him, their attention focusing on his gorgeous Hanguang-Jun, trying to get him for themselves, Wei Wuxian never felt jealous. Lan Wangji’s constant attention and adoration for him made him feel secure and loved, never doubting their dedication to each other. It irritated him when people ignored their relationship, solely based on them both being men, and treated Lan Wangji like he was still an available bachelor, but no, Wei Wuxian wasn’t jealous. He only hoped that he managed to show his husband just how much he loved him in return. Anyone with eyes could see that they were together, they were perfect for one another. They all could see that Wei Wuxian loved Lan Wangji just as much as the other. Right?
        • just wanna wrap wei ying into a big big hug :(((
  • Of Bunnies and Sleeves and All Happy Things, G
    • Lan Wangji definitely, absolutely does not miss Wei Ying's attention--despite the fact that he can't stop thinking about it.
  • A Flower in Bloom, E
    • If everyone really thought that Wei Wuxian was going to wait around during the New Year for Lan Wangji to come home when there was an entire party happening at Carp Tower, they had another thing coming. All he needed was a good disguise.
      • lovelovelove earnest and whipped wangji and jiang cheng and wei ying being all annoying with each other again yes pls !!
  • mediator, T
    • Wei Wuxian seemed surprised when Lan Wangji asked him for a moment to talk, even more so when he revealed the reason. Frankly, he appeared to be on the verge of laughing. “So, Jin Zixuan wants to get along with me...” Lan Wangji nodded. “And sent you as the middle-man…” an Wangji nodded. “Because he thinks we get along?” Lan Wangji nodded, a little at loss himself.
  • from me to you, T
    • Three-time Golden Globe recipient Wei WuXian and seven-time Grammy award recipient Lan WangJi’s love story through the eyes of the internet.
      • made me feel like i was actually seeing two artists fall in love on my timeline
  • The Absolutely True Story of the Yiling Patriarch: A Manifesto in Many Parts, T
    • In which the junior disciples (namely, Lan Jingyi, Ouyang Zizhen, and a reluctant Lan Sizhui) turn to RPF in an attempt to rehabilitate Wei Wuxian's reputation so that he and Hanguang-jun can get together and get married and live happily ever after. It's... surprisingly effective.
      • the unwavering love of the juniors for wangxian is what keeps me going in life
  • two guys r in love thats literally it, T
    • “I already love you, Lan-er-gege, and nothing I do can change that, no matter how far back I leave my time.”
      • my heart is happy happy happy
  • You, Asleep and Dreaming, M
    • Wei Wuxian moves into the Jingshi. They sleep together.
      • I lOVE my soft boys
  • seldom all they seem, E
    • one hundred and thirty-three principles of the Gusu Lan, pertaining to the state of marriage
      • we all know my weakness for arranged marriage fics and i was a bit sceptical how they would fit it into wangxian's dynamic but they do it SO well
  • Blink, E
    • Mo Xuanyu's family has set him up on a blind date with a rich young master after learning he is gay. However, he already has plans for that night. Instead of going on the date himself, Mo Xuanyu enlists Wei Wuxian to go as a substitute. Wei Wuxian must act like his best friend for the night before kindly turning down Mo Xuanyu's date. Only, Wei Wuxian finds out that turning down Mo Xuanyu's date is possibly the hardest thing he has had to do in a long time.
  • A Little Happiness, M
    • It was a beautiful, sunny day. A crisp, cool breeze was blowing, offset by the warm rays of the sun. The grass was vibrantly green, sprinkled with tiny white flowers. The rabbits were out, hopping contentedly around their meadow, practically begging to be picked up and cuddled. All of it was made surreal by the fact that a six-year-old Lan WangJi sat in the middle of the clearing, silently petting a black rabbit that had made itself comfortable on his lap. Wei WuXian sat nearer the edge of the meadow, legs crossed at the ankles, chin in hand, and his elbow resting on his knee. He stared at Lan WangJi, searching for happiness in him
      • this is one of my all time fav wangxian fics omg just the happiness i felt reading it it was so wholesome and lovely
  • rocked, E
    • “What if someone went for an early morning swim, hm? They’ll see the great Hanguang-jun defiling the cursed Yiling Patriarch in a boat—” Wei Wuxian let his hands fall back on the floor by his head, palms up, fingers curled loosely as he smiled at Lan Wangji. “Go ahead, Er-Gege. Defile me.”
      • im ngl yeah but this is probably one of the best and well written pwp fics ive ever read across all fandoms
  • Stainless, E
    • "I'm starting to feel," says Lan Xichen, "that this was a counterproductive suggestion." Wei Wuxian looks down onto the pristine, tranquil cold springs of the Cloud Recesses. Sitting in the water, their bare shoulders rising like dumplings carefully spaced in a steaming-basket, are a large number of Lan disciples. "They seem to be doing better," he says, encouragingly. "If they--oh, no, I see what you mean." At the near bank, someone has pressed someone else against the rocks and is kissing them frantically.
  • and so my heart beats wildly, E
    • five nighthunting competitions where Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji were rivals, and one where they weren't.
  • If I Can't Have You, E
    • Lan Wangji hates Wei Wuxian. That's what Wei Wuxian and the rest of the world think anyway. That's also the reason why no one can wrap their mind around the news that Lan Wangji has agreed to star alongside Wei Wuxian, and as his love interest no less.
      • its an actor au and its alright its a little bit ooc but still a fun read !!
  • tonight i can write the saddest lines, G
    • They tell him that he’s been cursed. They tell him that they will look through the scrolls in the library to find a way to undo it. Some of the elders offer that it might not be a bad thing that he’s forgotten, if all he has forgotten is Wei Wuxian. Nobody tells him who Wei Wuxian is. Lan Wangji thinks he can guess.
  • tempestuous, M
    • five times Wei Wuxian was shameless, and one time Lan Wangji was shameless back
  • Jiang Cheng and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Wedding, T
    • An outside perspective on modern! Lan Zhan’s and Wei Ying’s wedding through the eyes of local poor soul Jiang Cheng
      • i cackled so hard through this omfg
  • The Light That Fails to Dim, T
    • in which Jiang Fengmian is unaware of what happened to Wei Wuxian's parents and Nie Mingjue takes him in
      • i didnt finish this since its like 81 chapters long and i wasnt a fan of the turn it took near the 60th chapter but its a vv interesting take on what wwx would have been like if he grew up in a different sect
  • i would say heart, but, T
    • In the land directly north of Lan Zhan's village, there is a dense and dark forest. Past that forest, there is a castle. They say a cursed prince lives there. They say he has no heart
      • i love fairytale-esque stories and this one is so good they manage to fit wangxian perfectly into a fairytale setting
  • Burn back at me, E
    • Five times Lan Wangji steals a kiss from Wei Wuxian, and one time Wei Wuxian kisses him back.
  • Until It's Dark, M
    • Lan Zhan finds out. It changes everything.
  • Something Yet to Learn, T
    • Wei Wuxian is asked (under duress) to babysit a class of tiny Lan cultivators for just a few minutes. A few minutes turns into an hour, turns into two hours, turns into an impromptu literal field trip and now there's an entire class that is weeks ahead of their curriculum, their most junior disciples have apparently imprinted on Wei Wuxian like baby birds, and Lan Qiren has no one to blame but himself.
  • an effect, T
    • [Wei Wuxian. Who was he? And why did he look so shocked when he asked him that?] A question: can you erase a person?
  • equilibrium, T
    • Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji are sort-of-friends with benefits, and that's all there is to it. (It isn't.)
  • morning routine, M
    • Wei Wuxian pretends to be asleep so that he can enjoy Lan Wangji’s morning affections. To his surprise, it actually works.
  • You Can Say Yes, E
    • The best part being reborn as an omega is that Wei Ying can place a claim on Lan Zhan quite easily.
  • a stone to break your soul, a song to save it, M
    • When the entire cultivation world turns against Wei WuXian, Jiang Cheng comes up with a plan to save him and arranges a marriage between his brother and the Second Jade of Lan, Lan WangJi.
      • this is the first fic in a while that physically made my heart hurt
  • Linger in the Sun, T
    • Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji find themselves cursed, unable to see or hear each other. They figure things out anyway.
      • wangxian in love
  • nothing gold can stay, M
    • Before Wen Chao can throw him into Yiling Burial Mounds, Lan WangJi finds Wei WuXian.
  • Wei Wuxian’s Kidnapping Back and Forth Farce, M
    • Truly, only Wei Wuxian could manage to get himself into a kidnapping back and forth farce. Jiang Cheng just wants to mend things. Lan Zhan just wants to start things. Neither is willing to let the other have the last say when it comes to Wei Wuxian, and Wei Wuxian... Well. He’d rather like to have both a (to-be) husband and a brother, actually. (Or in which Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji kidnap Wei Wuxian back and forth until Wei Wuxian has had it.)
  • concessions to love, T
    • Conceding to love is not admitting defeat. (In which there is an arranged marriage with at least one unwilling party. At first.)
  • SanRen, T
    • Leaving YunmengJiang in an effort to curb the tensions in the Jiang family, Wei WuXian becomes a rogue cultivator. Even without the support of a sect, he is a rare genius whose name will become known across the cultivation world and whose techniques will influence the course of a war. However, what influences his own fate is a chance meeting that becomes the first step toward love.
        • vvv good and so interesting?? like its an interesting take on what would have happened if he had left early and also the dialogue is so spot on which aaahh is so rare i love it
  • the wei to the kingdom, T
    • It was supposed to be a simple tournament held to celebrate the Kingdom of Gusu’s recent victory over the Wen Kingdom. Wei WuXian has no idea how it suddenly derailed into a free-for-all contest for Second Prince Lan WangJi’s hand in marriage.
  • my soul brought to life by you, E
    • When Mo Xuanyu brought Wei Wuxian back to life in his own body, he not only gave him a revenge quest, he also gave him all the problems that come with being an omega. An alpha in his past life, Wei Wuxian does NOT know what he's doing, so he ignores the issue. Until he can't.
      • the smut is so good i have no complaints
  • your lipstick on my fingertips, T
    • Wei Wuxian likes to wear lipstick. Lan Wangji likes to observe
  • Deconstruct, T
    • At the other side of their bond there is a person waiting for him; a boy with a sunny personality and a penchant for mischief, the personification of everything the Lan sect abhors. Lan Wangji learns from early on that nothing good can come out of this, but it seems like Wei Ying is an expert in subverting everything he knows.
      • this one really took me through the ringer just ik theyre already soulmates in canon but this type of soulmate bond aahh i love these boys
  • Pry It Open, E
    • When Wei Ying comes up with a new request, Lan Wangji learns something new about himself: he actually really likes bottoming.
  • proof by contradiction, T
    • Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji cannot stand each other on the best of days, which is why them being forced to work together can only end in disaster and/or attempted murder.
  • A Wedding of Choice, T
    • When Wei Wuxian asked Lan Zhan to tie his headband to his wrist he didn't know the connotations. But, Lan Zhan fully knew that his actions would result in a wedding.
  • Gentle Indulgence, E
    • Lan Wangji's tying kink magnified
  • Fair Play, E
    • “Do you ever want to try out my role?” He propped himself up on one elbow and looked at his husband. Sweat still glistened across his bare chest from their recent exertions and Lan Wangji’s expression was soft and open.
  • asymptotic, T
    • The members of the Lan Clan have never been particularly well-known for their good judgement when it comes to matters of the heart. Which is why it should come as a surprise to no one when Lan Wangji falls in love with an actual ghost.
      • was quite hesitant bc of the premise but its SO GOOD oh my god so so good i really have no other words to describe it its amazing
  • denumerable, T
    • If his scars make Wei Wuxian so uncomfortable, Lan Wangji thinks, then that is a problem easily remedied. As with most affairs involving Wei Wuxian, it turns out to not be that simple.
  • gravitational potential, T
    • Wei Wuxian thinks Lan Wangji deserves to be swept off his feet. It's a...work in progress.
  • Of Pining, Obliviousness and Failed Seclusions {Or How Gusu Lan Sect Almost Got Eight New Sect Rules}, G
    • Afterwards, Lan Xichen would wonder that if Young Master Wei and Wangji hadn’t been so completely oblivious about their feelings for each other, he might have remained in seclusion after all. But honestly, how can anyone be expected to remain quiet while witnessing such a ridiculous amount of mutual pining?
  • Breaking Through, E
    • Lan WangJi and Wei WuXian end their arguments by screwing rather than walking away, but Wei WuXian hasn't caught feels yet.
      • fuuuuuck this series man the way their relationship evolves i just wanna scream
  • it's your soul, G
    • Wei Wuxian never said it out loud before, the fact that Lan Zhan just loved him for his body, and he’s surprised at how much it truly hurts him. The only thing Wei Wuxian always wanted was for Lan Zhan to love him, him, and not his body, just like he loves everything about Lan Zhan. And now he doesn't even have his own body anymore.
      • just do feel that in canon wwx shouldve been a ~little~ more affected by the fact that hes in someone elses body yk
  • Monotone, E
    • Wei Wuxian died. Wei Wuxian died and he never came back, not after thirteen years, or a hundred, or a thousand. The year is 2019 and Lan Wangji is still here, having reached the highest point of cultivation that has gifted him with immortality. It's supposed to be a gift, an honour, yet to him it's nothing but a curse. Wei Wuxian is dead, and life is colourless. Lan Wangji ghosts through time, simply living each day in monotone. That is, until he meets a man who has the same face, same name, same smile as Wei Wuxian. Suddenly, there's colour and hope back in his life—but it's not long until he realises Wei Wuxian in this timeline has not escaped the sorrow that plagued his past self. Maybe history really does repeat itself after all.
      • i can definitely tell why this fic is the fandom favourite it took me through all the emotions wow
  • just one minute more, G
    • In the hours while Wei Wuxian is still asleep, Lan Wangji struggles to get out of bed.
  • a path with thorns, T
    • Wen Ruohan is poisoned by a time-traveling Jiang Cheng before he can execute any sinister plans. This changes the trajectory of Wei Wuxian’s life, for better or for worse.

  • Looking at You Always, All Ways, T
    • Lan Wangji goes back in time to his first fateful encounter with Wei Wuxian for a chance to rewrite history.
  • i bet on losing dogs, M
    • Important dignitaries visit the Cloud Recesses, and Wei Ying (unfortunately) has to dress up and participate in the whole matter. It goes just as well as you'd expect.
      • its not finished but omfg its so funny some of the one liners are iconic
  • love comes in threes, T
    • It takes two people to fall in love and another person to narrate it. or: Wangji and Wuxian thirdwheel everyone even before they get together.
  • The Heart Always Makes Space for More Love, T
    • The sun is only cresting over the horizon when a quiet knock resounds throughout the tucked away cottage, startling Lan Xichen out of his meditation. Idly musing as to what Wangji could possibly have come to tell him so early after rising, important enough to drag himself away from the heat of his bed and lover, Lan Xichen opens the door to greet his brother. On the threshold, bathed in a gentle pink glow and appearing smaller than ever before, stands Wei Wuxian - uninvited, unexpected, unallowed, but not entirely unwelcome. Lan Xichen peers behind him for his permanent escort.
      • this ones more xichen centric and looks at his relationship with wwx and god do i love all three of these men and just want them to be happy

      • i love!!! the yunmeng sibs!!!
  • heavy light, G
    • Lan Yuan had heard his share of stories about the Yiling Patriarch, but there was someone he had never asked about him.
  • aftermath, T
    • “Was it worth it?” he asks instead. He regrets his words as soon as his brother closes his eyes again, as if he could remove himself from such an unpleasant situation so easily. Lan Xichen wouldn’t blame him for not answering— he finds he doesn’t even want an answer, doesn’t want to know the extent of a pain deeper than the lashes crisscrossing his brother's back; but Lan Wangji, unaware and earnest, tries his best to find appropriate words to reply with.
  • Gratitude【感恩】, M
    • Wei Wuxian's body is not the one he knows, but it is the one he has. (Wei Wuxian practices gratitude daily. Lan Wangji is reverent.)
  • beyond all limit, G
    • “You were asking me to run away with you,” Wei Wuxian says, one morning in the middle of spring. The sky is glowing, purple and red and gold, the night fading out and being replaced, gentle and gorgeous as always, with the day. He does not usually get up this early, though Lan Wangji always did and still does; his husband is sitting by the mirror and tying up some of his hair, only looking over when Wei Wuxian speaks. “Back then, when you came and asked me to come to the Cloud Recesses.”
      • this puts into words my love and hate relationship with fix it fics as i love love love seeing alternate paths to this universe but also the whole 13 year journey was important to their relationship being as strong and as loving as it was in the end

    • Jiang Cheng thinks that Wei Wuxian would be a much better ghost hunter if he'd stop flirting with the cameraman for more than five minutes. (The cameraman who may or may not be a demon.)
  • come rain or shine, T
    • Ignoring Lan Wangji's warnings of an approaching storm, Wei Wuxian ventures out into the forest in search of a rare medicinal herb – a poor decision, really.

  • facilitated diffusion, T
    • Wei Wuxian is a cute delivery worker. Lan Wangji's wallet suffers accordingly.
  • rare the man who'll hold to faith, M
    • There was no blood. No char. There was nothing to see except the strange softening of the Yiling Patriarch's mouth, as if just for a moment he was another person entirely. "There is the mark of our bargain, and here is the challenge," said the Yiling Patriarch. "You may strike at me, exactly once, with your sword. I will not fight back; I will not resist you at all, Hanguang-jun." That silvery suggestiveness crept into his voice again. "And a year and a day from now, you will come to me and I will deliver exactly the same to you." Lan Wangji heard his brother's voice raised in sharp and incomprehensible protest. His own heart was beating too loudly for him to hear anything else.

    • On a drunken dare, Jiang Cheng drinks a potion that allows him to hear other people’s lustful thoughts. It’s just his luck that he’s stuck in close vicinity with the guy who is completely and utterly besotted with his idiot brother. One thing's for certain - there is no way he's leaving this with his sanity intact.
  • A Broken Heart Fixes Everything, T
    • where Lan Qiren unwittingly becomes the reason that Wangxian get together thirteen years early
  • A Wedding For The Ages
    • where time travel occurs, and Wei Wuxian ends up being a guest at his own wedding
  • 爱不释手; never let me go, E
    • Wei Wuxian has certainly hoped so ardently in his two lifetimes, for so many different things, in so many different ways, that he could have summoned the demon to his front door with his bare hands. His eyes wander to Lan Zhan, settle on the back of his head, the blue-black curtain of his hair. Oh, how he has hoped.

  • Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now
    • Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji end up in their younger bodies mid-way through the events at Guanyin Temple. Wei Wuxian isn’t about to let a little issue like that — or the numerous other people surrounding them — stop him from confessing his love.
  • Cover Stories, M
    • Wei Wuxian creates an elaborate ghost story in order to cover up his and Lan Wangji’s inability to stay quiet during their nightly activities. It all works pretty well, until Jin Ling shows up
  • The Great Bathtub Conspiracy, M
    • Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji keep breaking bathtubs, and the Juniors come up with the obvious explanation - someone is clearly tampering with them in an attempt to torment the Yiling Patriarch. Obviously they need to do something about this; no one is allowed to mess with their Senior Wei. (Someone really needs to tell them that there is no huge conspiracy going on, and that Wangxian are really just that enthusiastic).
  • Bestseller, M
    • Wei Wuxian writes the Xianxia cut-sleeve equivalent of Fifty Shades of Grey, based entirely on his experiences with Lan Wangji, he doesn’t expect it to become the next big hit
      • the sheer amount of second hand embarrassment in this i love it
  • A Brother's Woes, M
    • Lan Xichen, wary, exhausted, and slightly traumatised after years of listening to Wangxian's very loud and very enthusiastic everyday activities, makes an impromptu trip to the past, a few days before Wei Wuxian is set to return from the dead. Whatever the Lan Sect are after in the night-hunt doesn’t have anything to do with Jiang Cheng, but now that they’re about to enter Yunmeng, it is the polite and proper thing to do, to notify the sect leader of the fact. The letter is simply such: letting Jiang Wanyin, the Yunmeng Jiang Sect Leader, know that they’re here. It’s simply - official correspondence. Maybe that’s the part that rankles the worst, Jiang Cheng thinks. Official correspondence, written to him in a hand more familiar than his own.
