I am someone who gets very confused with film plots very easily. Here are some films that I still don't get, even after repeated viewings and people explaining them to me.

  • The Matrix - I mean, what?!
  • Lucky Number Sleven - But he was going to kill him but he killed him and he's actually him and the other guy was this other guy and...ahhh
  • Taxidermi - perhaps watching it with no subtitles had some bearing on my eventual confusion but I reckon that no amount of subtitling would explain to me the end scene.
  • Butterfly Effect - well the end involved the suicide of a foetus so that's pretty weird you know...
  • Princess Mononoke - who're the bad guys and who're the good guys?
  • The Golden Compass - I just couldn't keep up. Also I read the book so that makes it worse.
  • Hallam Foe - "shell-shocked" I think would describe my reaction.
  • Mulholland Drive - apparently it's alright to not get this film
  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - ok so Kate Winslet has blue hair...
  • Fight Club - You mean to tell me, HE is HIM as well?! That's not possible!
  • A Beautiful Mind - It's real, no it's not, yes it is, no it's not. Was it?
  • Donnie Darko - I've stopped trying to understand this film.
  • BR2 - BUT I THOUGHT HE/SHE/THEY WERE DEAD!!!
  • Vanilla Sky - "see you in another life when we are both cats!" What are you supposed to respond to this with??!
  • Memento - This film should never have been shown to me.
  • Burn After Reading - "Wait what?!" <-- me as the credits started to roll.
