- Waking up in a different country. Breathing the air of a different land.
- Finally unclogging your ear after getting water stuck in there.
- When you know you've made someone happy
- Surprising people. In a good way. Not in the "Holy Bejesus why are you hiding in my wardrobe" kind of way. This is a bad surprise.
- A cup of tea.
- A glass of wine.
- Sneezing. Especially when you've felt it coming a while.
- Finding more money than expected in your bank account.
- Writing neatly. I don't know why but when I look back on a page of my best handwriting I am filled with this immense joy.
- Crossing the bridge on Queens Ferry Road = nearly in Edinburgh!
- Seeing the Old Course Hotel = nearly in St Andrews!
- Driving past the prison = nearly out of Aberdeen! Haha...or into it I guess...
- Being part of one of the flash moments in a club. It's a very special feeling.
- Reaching the top of a piste first thing in the morning when the sun's just above the mountains and looking down the valley at the beautiful, fresh, unspoiled snow. And then carving the whole thing up! Nothing like it.
- Getting into clothes that you left on the radiator so they're all cosy and fantastic :)
- Popping spots
- Winning! Yeah I'm competitive.
- Being told you have a sexy accent. But I don't know what people are on when they tell me this. The way I speak is this awful combination of Scotalian and mid-Atlantic.
- Making a baby laugh.
- Making a cat purr.
- Making a dog wag its tail.
- Unblocking an ear or a nostril
- Discovering you can do something that you thought you couldn't.
- Doing really well in exams.
- A hot shower after a day of skiing.
- Receiving postcards.
- Waking up to find the world covered in snow. Although this wears out by the time it happens in April.
- Discovering somebody knows your name, when you were sure they'd forget you.
- Sex when not totally wasted.
- Sex when with someone you actually feel attracted to...
- Writing QED at the bottom of five pages of mathematical proof.
- A good old yawn.
- When people are just generally polite.
- Finally having a pee when you're almost about to burst.
- Waking up feeling great after really hammering it the night before. The relief at the lack of nausea/headache/lethargy makes you want to sing!
- Buying presents for people.
- The start of a relationship when everything is new and exciting.
